Default My JBLfyed Zen

It All Started A month back when i felt the Urge for some more bass out of my previously existing setup which comprised of JBL GTO 936(ovals) in the rear and JBL CS 205(5.25 inch coaxials) in the front..as usual being on a tight budget i didnt really have many options.
like every one else i knew what i wanted.... BASS but i didnt know what to use to get that and being on a budget i didnt really have many options...

i started of thinking id get a 10 incher mostly a pio and power it with a sony 2 chan amp but i thought..... bigger the better rite .....so started looking out for 12 inch subs.

the only ones that fell within my budget were pioneer , sony , earthquake and some others.
i didnt want the sony .....i guess every one knows why(no offence to people who use sony)
pio seemed interesting becuase many people were talking about it and earthquake, well i never heard it but my installer insisted i giv it a shot so i did...

got the wiring done everything seemed to be going well , he fitted the amp and connected the sub.I honestly didnt feel like there was a 12 inch sub forget 12 inch it didnt feel like there was a sub at all.it was so bad.there was no bass at all.
maybe its the box it was in, maybe its my head unit or maybe its the amp. i dont know but it sounded crap.

told my installer that this is not what i was looking for and wanted something else...tried out the earthquake tremor which was supposed to be a better one but it didnt feel like a tremor at all. then jus for kicks i tried out the JBL bass Tube. and thats when things got better.

Earthquake Sub or no sub when the JBL bass tube was Playing it sure felt like an earthquake ..... !!!

but it obiously wouldn fit.....or would it i also had a tray on which the speakers were mounted so that was another problem.but it sounded amazing and i gave in.got the tray removed ,speakers were put in boxes on the sides and got the bass tube fitted.

Moral of the story : listen before you decide and just because it says eartquake doesn mean theres gonna be an earthquake.

check this out ....

Car : Maruti Zen
Head Unit : JVC
front speakers : JBL CS 205
Rear speakers : JBL GTO 936
Sub : JBL CS 1204T
Amp : SOny 552

only thing missing is the JBL amp. oh yess and space.....as you will see now i have NO boot space.

some pics of my setup..

JBL....I guess that says it all !!!

The GTO 936

The CS 205

The Boot

Time Pass Pic

better pics will be put up soon.also pics of the amp later..

Great choice revtech & I'm sure the guru's will be happy to know you trusted your ears rather than the dealer!!! Seems like you're enjoying it too.

P.S. Sorry to hear about your non-existent boot space!

Nice setup Rev, enjoy your music!

Just a thought, do you really need the tray holders at the ends of the boot? They can be taken off? The speakers are halfways under it.

Congrats on your setup and yeah that bass tube is all about BooM, so think it will suit your listening preference,
And from now on you can stay away from " Bhookamp " subwoofer or whatever you had tried.
