Thumbs up JBL Setup in a Skoda

This was a rather simple setup built by Anwar few days ago,
Setup comprises of 2 sets of 607 JBL Component Speakers.
1 of JBLCS60.4 4 Channel Amplifier
1 of JBLCS300.1 Mono amplifier
1 of JBL 1000 Watt 12" Subwoofer

Setup is tuned for purely for SQ, along with the rear compos and woofer loaded in a Sealed Fiberglass enclosure.

Below are the pics:

Rear component Speakers mounted in a custom Fiberglass Pod generates some really clean mids.

Amplifiers mounted in the boot.

The Owner of the car wanted to retain the Original Plank and not cut any holes in it.
Anwar Said " Thata Astu "

There is hardly half a cm gap between the plank and the rear speaker when the plank goes up with the boot.

Really nice, clean setup. Exceptional work. It looks really stock. Not almost stock but really stock. The fronts must be in the stock locations, right?

Anwar is an artist. No doubt about it.

The install is clean and I may be nit picking here but given that my icar is also an Octy....

a) I would have installed the sub on the left wall and the amps on the right. The left wall does not contain the fuel tank and hence one would ahve room to build a bigger box without protruding into the central trunk space.

b) I would have used custom grills on the rear components. The stock grills, in my view, do not mate well with the stock interiors of the Octy.

I understand the limitaions of the rear tweeter install but cant help worrying about the smear in the HF after it bounces of the rear glass. Maybe the 507c would have been a easier fit.

Lastly a grill for the 12" woofer is also in order.

That enclosure volume appears way too small. For a space like that, a 10" would have been more appropriate, in my opinion.

I did wonder about that. The GT4-12 needs 1 cu. ft. and that enclosure doesn't look to be that much.

Surely one of the best installs that I have seen. I too have a Octavia with a (I think decent system), but after seeing the meticulous install I might want to hide mine from prying eyes.....

Pardon my ignorance, but what would it cost in terms of labour & customization cost i.e without the cost of the equipment ?

very neat

12 inches would have been better but then its upto one's taste. still for a skoda

and woofer is naked! give it some protection

I think JK it is a 12 incher....not a 10 inch or smaller one....sometimes I think you are in a hurry to post and forget to read the complete thread....

@navin, you are right. Those tweeters are facing the glass & not the cabin.

@blueraven316, How does it sound? & is one sub enough for this car ?

Quite surprisingly the volume is actually 1 Cu Ft, I had seen the enclosure once while it was being built.

The owner wanted less irritation as the tweeters like most entry level component speakers produces pretty sharp treble, and moreover the speakers a mounted barely 6 inches away from the back seat passenger's ear, hence the mounting, though I have not sat on the backseat so cant tell how effective the positioning was.
Overall the system sounds quite fab, as it has been paired with some good packing and damping job by Anwar.
