Woweeee! Really good install, Ajay! Everything does look stock.

I'm not a fan of the under-seat placement of the Amps. But then, that is a personal thing

Those front door panels are fiberglass?

Congrats, Mumbaiyya! It looks great

Phantashtik, @B&T-bhai! Congratulations, @Mumbaiya-bhai.

Definitely a 7.5 on JBGMPI scale.

Did you fabricate a completely new door pad for the front doors? Looks OE.

Just consider the front stage. All 3 drivers per side are driven off the 4-channel amplifier. So two channels are driving just the two 8" drivers while the other two are driving the 5" + tweeter combination. So, the original passive crossover is retained for the 5.25" + tweeter and that takes care of the frequency dividing jhol in mid to high region.

Now, we dont want the 5" and 8" to play in each other's bands (navin wouldn't have liked that, we all know why ). So the 8" has a low pass of 450 Hz, and the 5.25" has a high pass set at 450Hz.

So, you have 8" playing 20 Hz to 450 Hz, 5.25" playing 450 Hz to 2 kHz, and the tweeter playing everything else above.

Since we dont have the processor yet, the sub and all 8" drivers are playing sub bass. So, its better to keep the sub off, for the moment.

Rotary crossover controls cannot be calibrated perfectly so as to achieve precise crossover frequency cut-offs. Plus you dont have amps having a rotary crossover control that varies from 22 Hz to 8500 Hz! So those small crossover modules are inserted into the amp from the back for the desired frequency of cut-off. It eliminates the need for an external active crossover network too.

Yes they are. Front and rear both. The larger drivers are 8", I would really love if the stock locations of cars came like this.

Man! It looks neat and beautiful. Great work on that front doors.

And what a choice of equipments! It should be called the dream of a setup. Hope I could get something like this! (for free as I am drained these days).

Congrats, Mumbaiya!

Thanks for the detailed information Ajay. While I could gather 40% of it after reading it 10 times. Now you know I am like the local Pappu installer who only understands + goes to positive and - goes to negative .

Really awesome set-up. Look forward to the entire bunch of pictures and would love to know the pricing of the stuff. Did it stay inside the budget?

the stock look is amazing .. doesnt seem aftermarket at all though all the goodies seem to have disappeared (well hidden)

enjoy

P.S. Do post in pictures of the processor and the HU when they are fixed up.

the modules pictured are 200hz modules, however you mention 450Hz.

also does not Illusion have a 3 way set. Reason I has is that since you are XOing at 450Hz a dedicated low Mms midrange would have been a nicer option than using a midbass as one (or is the ND5 a midrange?). Also does not the CRV have front tweeter pods?

For all the work put into the front speakers (wonder why the rear tweeter grills were not painted), the sub disappoints. I would have expected something fancier and more integrated into the CRV's body. I cna see you used a speakon connector for the sub so I assume the sub will need to be removed.

also did you really manage to fit 2 amps under the driver's seat?

actualy from what i see the c-c of the 2 drivers is about 10" (0.25m) that means till 1372 Hz you would not encounter combing. :-) still, really, B&T is right. However I would have used a HP XO at about 250/300hz and LP XO at about 3/3.5 kHz for the 5". Allowing the entire critical midrange to be reproduced by one driver. After all the 5" has a Fs of 76Hz and can has decent off axis response till 3kHz.
