You are right Clip. but there are exceptions...
Some years back (mid 80s) I had visited a CES and EV or Altec had this huge woofer that they had connected to the mains (110V AC). All the woofer did was produce a loud hum. no fire works.

That's because it's just a fourth of the power that LBM can potentially draw from the Freedabad grid.

I saw Ajays GZ wagon-R at at this Mumbai AV Expo, which had a pair of GZ Nuclear series subs. It sounded really nice!! around how much db would it be?

I kept bugging Ajay Bhai for the same but he was very busy at the expo. But now the car install is removed.
