You can do this only if your speaker has a transluscent cone, or one with small pores. Vaccum formed PP and weaves like glass and carbon fibre produce good effects.

For some show cars, I've lit up Illusion Lucent cones like this, and used neons behind carbon fiber subwoofers that cause small streaks of light to be visible from the front of the cone. You can have small leds at equal distances hooked up to the ribs of the basket, or have a circular tube right behind the speaker.

While its blingy, I don't like the thought of running some power signals so close to a speaker.

I agree. We don't want the power signals to interfere with the audio signals. Right?

Ya as the neons tube will affect the audio signal and add hum or some noise to it.

did not find any issue with that. Wiring has been done very carefully and using the best wires i think

for diy yes, don't try putting neons or led's

Sir your subs have led`s no neons..thats why no issues.

ok, so when people put neons in the boot for bling bling, thats bad na?

also, i noticed that they are the smal leds, the ones that you find in the keypad of your cell, small but very bright.

for the speakers it is built in into the cone.

but in the woofers you can see them. i will post pics when i remove the sub for carpeting - it's a pain to unscrew and screw

NO it is not like that. Some neons are nicely shielded which helps a lot.

That looks big, the box we built was the standard box for the Olympus, this one is a SPL box.

Yup, thats a custom built 8" aeroport. the sub is powered by a Bxi2607D

Yup, SPL enclosures are not meant for daily use either. so are you gonna try out Mike's enclosure design soon?

this is a super hilarious thread..pages 5- 7 are amazing.i am a bit late but congrats ss on the install...i know when ever the bass hits there will be smile on your face, and thats worth the hard work ..congrats again and let the ppl know your on the road..except the traffic policemen!
