I got the Alpine 9887 yesterday.
Installed it.
Getting fully harrowed in setting it.
Alpine has changed all the parameters. It is not like the older top of the line models & build quality too is very bad.
Alpine seems to have gone down stream.....

I will have to take the manual & study it before I can get this one right - very very painful. I hate it !!

Surprising!! People here swear by 9887. How about your listening impressions?

What impression ?

I cannot set up the HU;

I have used the last 3 top of the line HU's from Alpine. Actually they are still in use in my cars.
I tried to be a 'smart one' & ordered the 9887 to change the 9855 & here I am stuck.

A] I do not know how to set it up.
B] Hence I cannot tell you how good or how bad it is.

One thing is for sure - the build quality has dropped. Average at best.
I should have taken the Eclipse 7200 instead. Big Big mistake.....

You can still buy it. Sell the Alpine ! Given the reputation the 9887 has on the forum, you'll surely get a good price if you put it on the market

But first - hope you set it up to your liking and give your review/feedback on the set.

Sad to hear that. At the same time, I am surprised that you did not like the 9887. Although I am sure it would still be better than your existing Alpine in the Skoda. That really had some issues.
