Cool Finally got my GetZ singing!!

Hi Guys,

After a really long wait, finally I got my GetZ singing. cheers:
Being a very regular student of the ICE section, cracking the ICE wasn't very tough as I thought.
My idea of front co-axials and rear 6X9's powered by HU was shattered by the idea of the front stage and the components along with proper amplification theory
lectured by my favourite Gurus and it really made everything easier for me except for the vitamin M deficiency which was the only known convinced side effect.

Getting to the point, these were the stuff I had thrown in to make her sing,

HU :: Kenwood KDC-MP5039U
Amp :: JBL GTO 75.4
Front Components :: Alpine Type-R SPR-17S 6.5''
Rear Fill :: Nil
Sub :: Infinity Reference 1250W
Connection :: Scosche
Damping :: Accumat (on front doors and rear hatch door)
Installation :: Galaxy, Cochin.

Having prior experiences with installers in trivandrum, I decided to get this done in cochin. The names familier from team-bhp were end-effect, galaxy, emperor etc.
For my kind of installation I zeroed down Galaxy and end-effect. Checked out both and finally decided on Galaxy. The end-effect seemed equally
good, but the stuff he stocked was limited and the time taken for the installation was more due to less workforce. On the other hand the Galaxy had good stock and the guys was very keen on
understanding my requirement and suggesting me stuff that fall in my budget. I thought of buying a high-end HU with a JBL 604, but faizal bhai at Galaxy said it is better to buy a
good amp now and later upgrade the HU which seemed to be a really good idea to me. So I decided on buying the 75.4 (though it is outdated) and the 5039. Next week I will upgrade the 5039 to 6539.
The quality of work done is excellent and I really appreciate their effort to keep the car clean, and to avoid cutting any stock wires. The damping work done was good and
as I bought only three sheets of the material, the doors couldn't be fully done, can always do this later rite?.
I will recommend galaxy to anyone who are looking for a neat,fast and good install.

While the installation was being done, met another team-mate muneem who happened to come there and we really had some good talk there. He is an ICE freak and got some good
advise on the install. I am really happy with the current setup and the Alpine's simply rocks. The sound reproduction is just brilliant and it won't loss ground even at
very high volumes. The infinity and the JBL seems to be a perfect couple and does complements the mids and highs of the alpine.

I thank all the Gurus and team-mates who helped me decide on my current setup. I managed to click some pics during and after the install which is posted below.

Congrats!
Can you give us a price break-up for all the stuff used? How's the Scosche wiring kit?

Congrats, dRaGsTerrr! Nice install!

Do you have pics of the sub in its box? And how much did the sub run to, if you don't mind saying?

Another happy 75.4 user :-p
I'm intrigued by your choice of components.. I have never heard alpine components.. How much did the components cost? Also, kenwood head units are becoming popular here. plz take some time off and try giving us a short review of the head unit. Congrats on your setup. Also how does the infinity sub sound??

No, only the ouside wall. Whatever shown in the pic is the damping that I have done on the front doors. The rear hatch door, I have done inside out.

Thanks man!!
I didn't get the box as my friend didn't bring it to reduce the weight.
I bought it from crutchfield for 4000 Rs.

Thanks boss. Shall ask the installer to do that when I change the HU next week, if it is not much laborious task.

Where did you get the HU from? The install looks neat.

Zak has the infinity too, 10inch. Loved it.

Neat install - congratulations!

Interesting to note that the R-Type midbass basket, cone and dustcap/phase plug appear to be rather similar to the older X-Types, also tweeter looks like a 'ring radiator' design, again similar to the old X-Type.

A case of technology trickle-down effect, I guess....

I got the HU from the installer itself. It costed around 6K.

Thanks.
I am not pretty sure of the exact break-up, but here is an approximate one.

HU -- 6000
amp -- 13000 with b&w
sub -- 4000 with US warranty
components -- 7000 with b&w
damping -- 3750 (I think this is pretty expensive, but the material is good)
wiring -- 2000
enclosure -- 1000

Me too noticed it. The new X-type is pretty expensive compared to R.
