@Raj,
Nice to see the ICE setup in your car. How is the overall sound quality?

I have now the following question to you.

1. For an average person (with medium bass and treble) is it ok not to have a sub?
2. Is the AMP manadatory in a Scorp? If so what are all the options (may be in the order of preference) available with approximate price?
3. Do you have to do a lot of wiring changes for this install?

Hopefully i will come up with another set after i get answer for these..

Hi buddy, nice ID!!!

1) yes, if you are not too keen on bass, you can omit the sub. but if you have the budget, go for it. you will start liking it!

2) IMO, an amp greatly enhances the audio quality. not only in a scorpio, but in any car. the cheapest amp you will get is sony (3-4k) to JBL (5-6k) to high end ones like alpine & blaupunkt (8k onwards). i would say consider the amp depending on what speakers you install. for a budget system with decent speakers (not too powerful or high end), a JBL S644 amp would be fine.

3) wiring totally depends on you. i would say its worth investing in better wiring. not many changes are required. also, please do not touch the front speaker wirings if you want the Voice Assist System to work.

Default DOWNGRADED my scorpio!

Yes, the amp of my scorpio fried up! Had given the car for servicing & the great A.S.S. guys pressure washed near the amp & it went kaput. Anyways, the car was lying idle after I bought the Punto & so I was in no mood to buy a new amp for it.

So removed the Illusions from the front & the GZ sub from the rear. Now these will go in my Punto.

Added Powerbass 6 inchers in the front door. The rear comps remain the same. But I must say, the powerbass & Vtrek in the car gives a nice punch even without the amp. They are more than sufficient for my scorpio as of now.
