| Whichever Tuesday it is (today or the one next week), I think its too ambitious a statement made by the PMC. The amount of potholes that have comeup, it is no simple task to get rid of them over night. Unless, they do some kaamchalau work like always, and wait for the next monsoon to make the same statements .Meanwhile, on another note, last evening, near Kinara hotel. To add to the usual jam and chaos, MNS had some kind of rally going on where the leader was blabbering on the PA and his chamchas had the entire road blocked! I mean seriously- What the ...? Its peak hours, that area sees jams any which way, and to top it, you have a rally? |

| ^^ Swanand, I passed that rally earlier in the evening, when the PA was exhorting jobless chamchas to come and join the assembly. I was expecting some chaos on that route but could not notify here on time. I think it is high time that something was done about usage of roads for such purposes. I mean what benefits are expected from anyone standing and talking hot air? Also, I am seeing a lot of cop patrols again in the Kothrud area through the day and night. Is this a reaction to thefts or some other purpose? by the way, I dont think they mean any Tuesday of this monsoon. In fact, their quick fixes are worse than the potholes as all that rubble they fill in gets spread all over the road worsening the situation Last edited by selfdrive : 26th July 2011 at 11:08. |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | You guys have been in the corporate world and don't know what "next Tuesday" represents? Shocking! "Next Tuesday" is that imaginary point of time to which every task may be successfully procrastinated to without fear of reprisal. It works this way, say your boss calls you on a Thursday evening and asks about an important task that he'd assigned you some time ago. He needs it "ASAP". Obviously you'd forgotten all about it, and so'd he till about 10 minutes ago when his OWN boss called him. But appearances must be maintained. It's almost done. A few data points are missing. I've sent it to ___ for internal review... You know the drill. "Yes, but WHEN can I have it?"- bossman ain't gonna let this one go easy. Tomorrow EOD? That gets bossman thinking. Getting something on Friday evening would just ruin HIS weekend, not to mention his boss's. While he pauses, unsure how to reply in the face of your new-found efficiency, you offer an easy out. "Oh wait, but the $30 million <enter name of major client> proposal is due tomorrow. In fact we're trying to get an extension till Monday and slog over the weekend to get it done..." Relieved boss: "No worries. Focus on that. Just make sure you send it in early next week." You (fingers poised over Ctrl+Alt+Del): "Perfect. How about next Tuesday?" Everyone enjoys their weekend and of course by the time next Tuesday comes, some other minor emergency has struck and everyone's too busy fighting that fire to care about some stupid task they assigned on Thursday evening. Our politicians are smarter than you think. Last edited by noopster : 26th July 2011 at 12:11. |

I am sure with the rains the humps that they have created opposite to Tata Johnson would be mud and slush now and perfect for some offroading vehicles ![]()

Has there been any pothole fixing work been done on the bypass; I hope it is not done with rubble/ sand as it is only going to create more slushy roads.

| ^^The suspicions have been confirmed! I do work in an office with no windows (to see the outside world)! The potholes have been filled. Well, at least the major, accident causing ones. The smaller ones still prevail. Shall update on the conditions of those filled potholes once I reach home . |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | ^^ Same here. I can only hear the rain when it gets really heavy. Till then it's like a black hole with sterile fluoroscent lighting. What's thecene today? Trafic started building up already? Better leave then! |

| Nope, no traffic buildup yet. Traffic is heavy(ish) but its moving continuously. On days having a heavy jam, I see a long line of brake lights on the Mezza9 route which dont move. No such case today. Dunno what I should do, leave before 7 and hope I can get home before my 8 pm call, or stay back in office ? PS : Right now have an amazing view of the cloud covered mountains in the distant horizon. |

| ^^ that is classic ROFL!!! While passing the smallest flyover in town, I noticed a hoarding in Marathi (to the left/ near the Monginis cake shop) that depicts the "bhuyaari maarg" and its plan. It also has a poster of some guy I dont know/ remember.Ironic, considering the state of the flyover I thought people would want to dissociate themselves from such a fiasco!! Traffic is the usual nightmare in town; was surprised to see a test mule in Kothrud on my way back. It could be either the Force Motors SUV (more likely) or the Merlin Last edited by selfdrive : 26th July 2011 at 19:37. |
