INDIAN ARMY ROCKS!

Yesterday, on Nagar-Shirdi Road, a dumper tipped over a paan stall with the stall owner trapped under.

A passing Army truck came to the rescue with the Jawans lifting the truck with their bare hands

Details about the incident - http://www.ndtv.com/india-news/shoot...gurgaon-781632

Quote:
GURGAON: Gunmen opened fire on an SUV near a big mall in Gurgaon this morning, causing the car to topple over onto an auto-rickshaw. The driver of the auto-rickshaw was killed.

The police allege that the shooting was the result of a gang-war.

Four gunmen were in a Santro and have escaped. Three teams are hunting for them, a senior police officer told NDTV. The driver of the SUV was shot in his shoulder. The officer said that a "known criminal" was in the SUV with his associates and was the target of the attack. The man driving the Santro is allegedly a murder accused out on bail.

The shooting took place on MG Road outside the Central Mall in Gurgaon, just ahead of IFFCO Chowk, a major landmark in the area.

Received these photos today from a friend. This accident occurred in Rajpura, Punjab. Three vehicles are involved here, a truck, Nissan terrano and a Toyota Innova.

Perfect example of the rear crumple zone doing its bit leaving the passenger cell intact on the Sunny.
It's a Sunny, not a Terrano.

That's a Nissan Sunny in between.

Looks like the truck banged without even attempting to brake, and Nissan went under the Innova, the aerodynamic shape of the sedan further helping the cause.

I hope no injuries. This is one scary accident.

Looks like the Sunny and Innova were stationary and the Truck rear ended the Sunny, which inturn rammed into the Innova. Theres no way that a Truck could be at such a high speed to ram in to these vehicles and cause the kind of damage that we see - If the 2 vehicles (Sunny and Innova)were also moving.

A pillars in Sunny have taken good weight of Innova and not crumpled under it, effectively saving injury/death of Sunny driver and passenger.

What is with these SUVs/MUVs? Are they on a mounting spree? Santa Fe on an autorickshaw (pre-page) and Innova on a Sunny. Good to see Sunny's cabin intact. How come front of Innova is damaged, too? May be it hit a third car up front.

I don't think its the Innova which caused this end-result. My guess is that the truck rear-ended the Sunny and pushed it under the Innova and the Innova was most likely blocked from the front. So the only direction the Innova could move was 'up'.

Thumbs up re: Pics: Accidents in India

The passenger cabin of Nissan Sunny is almost fully intact with almost nil damages and distortions. This is really a major shunt from the rear by truck and from front and top by the Innova.
Excellent built quality and high strength steel sheets and crumple zones.

Really bad accident. Hope driver and passengers in the Sunny are not hurt. This is the first time I am admiring Sunny's build quality. BTW, isn't the innova's number plate (CHE 67) invalid?
