Default Speed limit of 60 KMPH Enforced till Kengeri on Bangalore - Mysore H'way

Mysore road id now 4 lane and cruising speeds of 80 - 100 kmph is easy.

But the traffic police were catching cars yesterday with speed guns. It seems anything above 60kmph on this road is illegal., as they say till kengeri it is still city limits.

They are out to make a quick buck.

stranege logic... What is the actual speedlimit on this highway?

I thought there is a common speed limit for all national highways , outside citylimits.

One cant get FE on highways anymore with this. 80kmph is the right thing on highways for FE..

Anyway, its understandable.. those defining these rules never seen urbanisation or have a feel of what good cars are for..

Sure but it depends on what car ur driving.. on my OHC vtec 1.5.. 80 is where it gives me the best FE on high way.. i.e. without stopping.

Driving fast and carefully is what differs from each driver.. I go 80 plus without compensating safety.. but other wise my brother drives at 50-60 compensating the car hardware and getting pissed off!!

Isn't there any board mentioning speed limits? I thought that's given in any new highways.

Well, i biked to Mysore and back on Sun - 80-105 throughout! The surface is good though you have to watch out for the very frequent towns and outskirts of these - the speed drops to half the usual.

Yes, till kengeri it's considered as city limits now, with the RV college also on the road its always safe to drive below 60 and I guess after kengeri you can rip with caution ofcourse, there are still some arrogant and lane senseless drivers out there driving....
I usually do 100-110 when I go to Mysore heehee *peace*

Like Roaringengine said, Kengari falls under Bangalore city limits and thas the reason we find traffic police.once you cross kengari u dont find these guys and u can rip.but beware of the highway patrol.they are doing some serious vigil between channapatna and Maddur.coz its considered a deadly zone

The speed limit on all Dual carrigeway national highways (inc. toll roads) is 90 KMPH in North India. On teh mumbai Pune expressway it is 80 KMPH and is 80 kmph on all other highways.

Dont know about the expressways/toll highways in the East/south east part of the OCuntry and roads like the ECR.

I agree with "the matrix", last weekend i was in the mysore road coffee day, at around 1:00am, and there were highway patrol, roaming across the street.....

Leave all this aside, i still love to do a night out on the road, and coffee day on mysore serves as a good pit stop....

This time we drove my bro's palio....and hey enjoyed the drive....but ya few sensless drivers are always a scare....and to hell with those who drive with high beam on ...
