Its the toll towards Hosur. I was travelling to Salem from Bangalore then. That's the only toll that worked on that day.

One of my friend's friend mentioned that Krishnagiri Toll accepted FASTag when he was returning from Coimbatore couple of days ago. Anyone else was successful to pass through FASTag lane in Krishnagiri Toll recently?

I just got my FastTag RFID a Week back as a first trail run used E-city Elevated toll way. I tried to pass through the FastTag lane toward E-City Phase-1(towards Infosys Gate), but Toll staff saying that the regular FastTag RFID will now work here and also they were asking for different pass which they are scanning Manually.
This happened to me on my last two trips to E-City, but on both occasions I bluntly refused to pay saying that I've already received a debit notification from an earlier trip, and not willing to pay twice.

Update from morning today - I took the "pass" lane and rolled down the windows as soon as I was nearing the boom barrier - for the routine banter - but lo and behold, the gate opened and let me through. I received an SMS forty minutes later. This is the first time this has worked like I expect it always should!

Friends,
I received fastag around 3 weeks back. Mr Nagesh was really helpful. The process was very smooth and he was very patient enough to answer my queries whenever i called and bugged him. Im yet to try the tag as i didnt get a chance to go out. Which location on the windshield would be ideal to fix this tag? I have a Skoda Rapid.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Today i travelled from Bangalore to Vijayawada via Tirupati. Not even one toll is enabled with Fastag.
It is really waste of money to buy FASTAG at this time.
Only useful for those who travel between Bangalore and chennai.

More update - This is operational in Krishnagiri/Thoppur/Salem also. However they are not maintained as exclusive lane. If you have tag working you need not to pay otherwise pay and go.

There is a catch - for my friend at Krishnagiri - Operator told Tag is not recognized and asked him to pay and go, he paid and later on he got SMS also stating it is deducted.

This is indeed good news . Though it is not perfect, hope down the line we get a dedicated lane as more & more people start using FASTag.

Considering the volume of traffic in Krishnagiri & Thoppur tolls, if large population uses FASTag, then i believe they will soon make it dedicated lane.

It looks like FASTag is becoming widespread now.

It's good news, the icing is discount mentioned. Hope this will make commercial users to migrate to Fastag.

However, even before that count of toll booth was around 180 or so as mentioned in the ICICI link, however not many were having Fastag working. Hope that changes.

Sorry if this has been answered, but does anyone know if the balance money in the FASTag account expires if unused for a while? I could not find any information about this in the web, though I did see that the FASTag itself has a validity of 5 years: http://www.nhai.org/Frequently%20Asked%20Questions.pdf

Not a definitive answer but I have it on 2 cars. Mostly only one car is used for long distance travel.

In the last 3-4 months, no changes in the balances were visible
