Another accident on DND, car catches fire

A Maruti Zen being driven by a 16 year old school kid on the wrong side collided with 3 cars, hit the railing and burst into flames. The driver fled the scene. The car was CNG equipped.
According to TOI report, the zen hit a getz at the rear. The getz guy saw the driver was underaged threatened to report him. In fear the zen guy started going back towards Delhi on the wrong way, and hit a Wagon R and an indigo and then hit the Railing after which car caught fire.
Whats up with Delhi accidents and fires!

According to newspaper report a co-passenger of Zen got serious injuries to her face.

This was Noida Expressway and not DND

The newspaper says Noida Delhi Expressway, which is DND.
The car hit the getz near toll gates, after which he fled from the spot the wrong way

Dumb kid is lucky he didn't hit anyone else while driving the wrong way.

The paper said its DND and expressway doesn't have a toll gate, the KID has hit two cars an indigo and a wagonR driving on the wrong side. I think instead of threatening the KIDDO the getz guy should have taken away his car keys first... Kids mother who later reached the toll plaza told the authorities that the kid had told her that he is going to local market to get fruits and veggies!!! next thing she heard was bout the fire..........

so she thought it ok if that 16 yr old can drive to buy veggies from the local market. IMHO its more of a fault of the parents than the kids. if she was the one who authourised the kid to do so, she must be jailed for supporting in a crime.

kids are known to demand things, not necessarily they should be fulfilled. on the delhi roads its very common to see a toddler standing on the lap of the driver trying to control the vehicle

The Kid was from one of the most elite schools of the country " Doon School" and I think the intiative suggested by Naveen to start a small education program all over the country by members to educate these young kids on Safe Driving.

The Car appears to be the Old MH-410 ZEN, I doubt it had Fuel cutoff system..Since CNG is non flameable at naked flame levels, It needs a strong heat source to self ignite which was provided with the Fuel Leak of the Zen ( Proably since it rammed head on everywhere).

That might help to a small extent. But what is really needed is a strict enforcement of the law. This kid and his parents should get exemplary punishment that would send a clear message to similar spoilt brats and their parents. As long as this does not happen, and as long as rich parents are allowed to use their influence and bail out their errant kids, this state of affairs will continue.

lucky for sure or else if there was a "mob"
