Thumbs down Who said pavements are only for 2 wheelers

Hi everyone, greetings from Pune.

Anyone who has driven on the pot-holed roads here, would have often seen 2-wheelers casually drive on the pavements whenever there is a traffic jam or even when traffic is stopped at a signal.

Well, why should only 2 wheelers have this privilege? Why not 4-wheelers, or 6-wheelers? At least one bus driver seems to think so ...

This picture is taken at Holkar bridge, where 3-4 lanes of traffic converge into a single lane to get onto the bridge. Note, the bus has no road left in front, and has to swerve to the right to join the traffic.

Crazy or adventurous? I'd say just plain stupid. I stayed far away from that bus till it crossed the bridge.

Lol, I always wonder who gave those morons on road in Bangalore (or that guy in the pic) a driver's license! I guess bikers to some extent cannot be blamed when they overtake from the left side as 80% of the bangalore's 4,6-wheelers think they are the fastest on the road and stick to the right lane.

Hosur rd in b'lore is famouse for such sights. The buses going from b'lore to hosur always drive over footpaths....

slightly OT:
if blore Tbhpians remember couple of months back ORR had another layer of asphalt & the median & roads were at the same level.

most of the vehicles were crossing over to the other side without really going till where they are allowed to take a right turn/u turn.

This is the very reason for converting Hosur Road Footpaths now to Road. Authorities are very proactive in Bangalore. LOL.

Thats the irony of it all !!
I witness the same almost on a daily basis when i am waiting patiently at a signal on the road from where the ORR links to the Marathalli junction. Sometimes, i feel like going and giving them one tight rap. No wonder most pedestrians are found jaywalking on the roads.

Its not just Blore John. I've seen two wheelers ride on the pavements even here. One biker ended up scraping my car's side while trying to climb onto the pavement.

But a bus acting like a two wheeler thats really taking things for granted.

Oh yeah, few of those morons in super hurry got good blasting from me for quite a few occasions. It had became my daily ritual to slow down my car and bark at them
But on a serious note, I just can't understand what emergency these half-witted morons in human disguise have. Can't they just use the road or say go to the next u-turn which is probably just a minute away.

kaushik, it was even more amusing when BMTC buses used to climb over the median to take a U turn where there wasnt one. They would block the entire road on either side, just to complete the turn.

In My opinion the traffic cops should deal with such morons by exercising fines and other strict measures....its a disease that is most common in every Indian city and the irony is... @ most signal stops guys behind you go berserk and literally swear @ you for stopping on red..when will this change ? I encounter this mostly near the sarjapur stop signal on ORR...hold on,...I know this is India...its tough getting on these jerks...and all i can see and say is it will become worst in the future ahead....
