George Auto, Thane, Tata ASC.

Pretty clear they think they deserve 8/10 for poor service.

An optimist might say they'll give you such good service that 8/10 would be poor by their standards. We have seen their service, not so!

Nothing quirky or weird here.

In addition to Tata, Maruti and TVS also follow the same rating scale.

Anything below 8 is considered as unsatisfactory and unacceptable. On this scale if a customer rates them 8 or below it means that they clearly did not meet expectations of the customer.

They never do!

A little less marketing gimmickry, a little more good work...

Depends on what the rating scale is: 10 point scale rating ranging from 1 to 10 or 3 point scale rating ranging from 8 to 10? Its ambiguous but most people will assume to be 10 point scale.

Once, I gave them a 0 (ZERO !!) for taking toooo looonnngg for my Palio's repair.
For the next 2 weeks I would have received almost 50 calls, almost fighting with me.

I wish I had the sense to capture this on my phone.
yesterday at Khan market, I was getting my car shampooed/polished.(People who know, they can see what I am talking about next to grover's shop)

Theres the signoboard of one of the shops, which proclaims "MACHANICAL WORK".
Well, an honest enough typo, yeah?
Parkings at a PREMIUM premium in this place, so the cars are parked everywhere!
The local cops have put up a sign on a wall close to it saying "NO MACHANICAL WORK!". I would like to think, hopefully, that someone in the police department has some tongue-in-cheek sense.

I think it was intended for the drivers and hence stenciled on the driver door. For others, it should have been Save <your STC>, Pay more Taxes

To keep his liver away from diseases this tanker lorry driver keeps it away from his body in a box. Hope he take enough care so that none bangs his tanker from behind.

How about this menu item? I saw this in an Assamese Highway dhaba, just outside Guwahati on the road to Shillong.

Sure did "Quench" my trust! I ordered none of the beverages mentioned.
