Bajaj Sunny! all of 60cc(?) and took 8 hrs - had to stop numerous times for the engine to cool down and to give our a** a break! Apart from these - done numerous runs between Bng - Trichy (340km - nonstop 6 hrs) and Bng - Palaghat (400km - nonstop 7hrs). |

| Mumbai to Goa in about 2004-2005. Was about 575 kms I think. I did not stop once for even a washroom break. Left Mumbai at 4 in the evening and had reached Goa (fortunately on time, for a party) at 2am.

I just would like to know whether the personal cars on interstate travel in India on personal trips are subjected to any TAXES by the states? ![]() If a person would like to travel in a Tamilnadu registered car on a trip covering various states such as Andhra, Goa, Karnataka , Kerala and back to Tamilnadu, 1. How the cops treat "alien state" registered cars? ![]() 2. Is there any special procedure to be done before taking on multiple interstate travel? ![]() Regards, Hariharan ![]() | |

| Super-Admin | As the strictest of rules, you MUST take a break (however short) every 2 hours of driving. Get out, stretch, wash your face and have some water / tea etc. This will significantly improve the response times of your driving.

| My max distances without a break are: 1) 830 kilometres from Bangalore to Pune in about 13 hours on my Karizma in Feb last year. 2) 600 odd kms from Bangalore to Belgaum (interiors) and back after a couple of days' break. 3) 475 kms from Leh to Manali in September on my cousin (D-Nav)'s pulsar 4) Bangalore to Bombay in November last year in a Siena - took me about 15 hours - with another person as co-driver Without a break - no naps as indicated.

If you are using Yellow Board Taxi, then necessary permit has to be endorsed by the check post for the state you are entering and you need to pay some amount as tax.
