1500+ kms of solo drive over 3 days for a birding trip to Ganeshgudi:

day 1: hoskote - haveri - sirsi - yellapura - magod - hubli ( ~615 kms )
day 2: hubli - yellapura - gokarna - yellapura - bhaagavathi - exploring around dandeli and around - ganeshgudi ( ~365 kms )
day 3: ganeshgudi - hoskote ( ~525 kms )

On an unrelated note, trips to the western side of the state has really been helped by the multi-laning of the NH 48 ( erstwhile ). < 4 hours to Sakleshpur is just fantastic. It's a different story as to what happens after you cross Sakleshpur

mine are,

Chennai - Tirunelveli - Chennai (1250 kms)couple of times in Swift ZXI
Tirunelveli - Kulasekaranpattinam - Tirunelveli - 150 kms (atleast 500 times) in KB 4s.

since I drive mostly at nights, I don't enjoy the last stretch of solo drives. I easily bored of the night and feel drowsy. But i loved all the rides on my 4s, though they are just a 50+ speed.

But Highway trips with family is always fun and i hardly take a break except for the nature's calls .

I must say, that was quick. Looking forward to read your travelogue.

Any reason for doing it in such a hurry?

My stock of leaves had depleted and my dog, who was with a pet-sitter wasn't doing too well. So hurried back home.
