If solo means single person driving the distance, then the max I have done is 1250 kms in 17 hrs from Andheri to Jaipur in my trusted Pajero. The time includes 3 toilet breaks, 1 hr lunch break and one fuel stop.

Should confess though was a bit woosy in the head for couple of hrs at destination.

Team,

I normally travel with my Family from Mumbai to Goa ..once every year for Christmas as its our native place.

But I do rememebr making the trip once from Mumbai to Goa alone by myself for some personal work and would say that it was not that a comfortable experience for myself. The trip started well and had covered 300kms plus ..at a stretch with no issues...as kms passed by thereon started feeling drowsy at times on long stretches of road which was alarming and also dangerous as I was driving at high speeds and could prove fatal. I just managed to reach safely home and vowed never to drive alone again. The Ghats area driving was great though.

There is also another reason for me not to drive alone again , its because during the entire trip I was driving very fast , inspite of me knowing that its dangerous , but I knew there was no one else with me in the car so the thought of fast driving was somewhat more exciting and gave in to the temptation. Hence wouldnt want to do it again cause Iam sure that I fall into temptation again

Just my 2 bits folks.

Drive SAFE

Peter.

ok here is mine and this one is non stop with no breaks taken in between this was done last december 2006 when the Kgiri - Salem - Trichur - Cochin route was at its worst and the Sabarimala season was on going ...

Route taken ... Bangalore - thirupathi - Krishnagiri - Dharmapuri- Salem - Coimbatore - palghat - cochin - trivandrum approx 1300 Kms ( including my diversions for personal reasons) took me a gruelling 24 hrs without sleep yep i know it was risky ..... but had a spare driver at hand who could take over anytime but it never occured to me that i was tired as we were having some very interesting discussions .... i doubt whether i will do this again ...

I am awating hvkumarjis post on this thread that will be something to look out for ...

San Jose to Las Vegas in a Camry => approximately 540miles (870km) in about 8 hours

In India it may be Vellore, TN to Kottayam, Kerala through Dindigul in a Maruti Esteem. (approximately 630 kms)

This route normally should be around 550 kms as per my experience, unless you have taken a detour in between.

My longest drive:

BLR-Krishangiri-Salem-Coimbatore-Ernakulam-Kollam-Punalur (my hometown) was 750kms. Though there are shorter routes, bad roads during Oct-2007 in Kerala made me choose NH47 for most part and the remaining on NH208.

Was tiring for the roads in Coi-Ernakulam strech was in the worst condition that I have ever seen, took many short breaks of 20-30 mins and in all took 20 hrs. Consumed redbull to keep me alert
