Default Azharuddin's CRV hit by a ST bus !!

This is a relatively stale news but having not seen it posted yet, thought of doing so.
On 13th April, Azharuddin (Ex cricketer) and his sons met with a life threatening accident
at the Palm Beach - Uran Road intersection (regulars would know how dangerous this point is ). A S.T bus banged his CRV at 90 degrees at high speed. The CRV rolled over while the ST bus after collision went on to flatten the traffic light on the Belapur Side.
The airbags saved the occupants in car. Azhar and driver relatively unharmed but sons had minor lacerations. DNA reported that ST driver was caught and was grovelling at Azhar's feet asking for forgiveness while Mumbai Mirror reports the driver to be absconding !!

Seems the CRV proved its sturdiness !!

I happened to pass through the junction in the evening and was surprised at that time to see the lights off in the peak hour with no policeman on view and then saw the flattened pole. The traffic lights had been recently replaced after the construction activity there.

Yes I watched the news on TV Channel.

It was Hit from Right side direct hit with good speed but Some CRV managed the Blow and the Chasis remained intact .
Azharudin was in front with driver and his son was in back seat . Both front bages were shown inflated on TV and Minor injuries reported . Driver( CRV) was totally Unhurt and was narating the story on TV.

The most interesting part is that It was mentioned on news Channel that BUS Driver admitted that he didnt see the CRV at ALL! and he hit the CRV with full speed without applying any breaks! I wonder he was sleeping or had been smoking something new that day!

After watchin the Crashed CRV on TV it seems it is quite safe Vehicle

Does anybody have photos to show the extent of damage to the vehicle - will be an indication as to how much the airbags and the build quality contributed to the safety of the occupants. Wishing the accident victims a speedy recovery.

Dayyum, if that is the ST bus, the CRV has completely destroyed it.

It had hit the traffic pole too... and hence the damage.

Just read on FB that Azhar's younger son Ayazuddin died in bike crash while he was riding his sports bike on Hyderabad outer ring road.

Check out the latest new articles.

His son is not dead, but is critically injured. Initial reports suggested he was dead, but that was found to be false.

Sad. Was it collision with another vehicle or he hit something on the wayside?

Just googled after reading this post. On a couple of sites its been reported that he is injured while on others they claim he is dead. Can anyone clarify ?

Hope he is safe and recovers soon.

I am sorry, did you actually read the entire article, or just glanced at the headlines in Google news??

I ask because all those articles which have been cached by Google saying that he's dead, when you actually open the article have been corrected and say that he is injured, though critically so.

Latest news: Apparently the confusion was created by the fact that while his son is actually injured, but a nephew or some other relative actually did die. Both have apparently suffered from severe head injuries.

Saw the news and looks like he is very critical, also the new channel posted that he got injured during a bike race.

If that's true , GOD knows why these young chaps do these races .
I hope he recovers fast, GOD bless him.

Cheers.
