really great writeup...now the suspense is killing.. few questions that come to mind... 1. How was the car taken back to your home/service center, repaired and what were the costs? 2. Any other mishaps? 3. How is the friend who was attacked by ants? or were they really ants and not some alien creatures or exotic insects? 4. Did you meet any erotic village damsel and any romances in the air between village folks and your friends? 5. Did you become a guest of Veerappan at his resort ? ![]() my imagination is running wild as your writeup is very spicy.

@snaronikar, @aaggoswami: This is not the end. I will narrate the whole story. @LLL: Your 1st and 2nd questions will be answered as the story proceeds further. 3) ‘Bitten by ants’ friend is doing well I think. Have lost touch of him since some years. I thought they were ants, don’t know otherwise. But one thing, I had never seen such big ant creatures anywhere. 4) Romance in the air hmm hmm there was nothing but bananas hanging there. ![]() 5) In my wild thoughts, I thought I might but luckily didn’t. Who knows, maybe they actually were Veerappan’s aids! Here is the next part: We reached MM Hills around 10.45 P.M. We got rooms in a guesthouse and retired for the night without having dinner. I slept with a lot of guilt. The next morning we got up early and got ready, went to the temple and finished the darshan. Then we had breakfast and started searching for phone booths for a telecom directory or yellow pages to call the insurance guys. My car was insured with Oriental Insurance, 4th Block, Jayanagar. We got a directory in a booth, got the right numbers after 2 or 3 calls, and contacted the Oriental guys. They said they wanted a FIR copy and a Spot Inspection Report from the police. So, I and my Uncle set out to the police station. We reached the station and luckily the station officer and the Sub-Inspector were present. We explained everything to them and they were very co-operative. (We didn’t say rash driving, we said poor visibility.) They took all the details and said they cannot give the copy of the FIR as there was no photocopy machine anywhere on MM Hills. Do you believe this! Then after explaining the importance of that document to claim insurance, they agreed to give a carbon copy of it. After taking a full narration from me, they told us to come in the evening and collect all the documents. We had told them that we had moved the car. They said it was ok. We thanked them and left the station. All this took around 2 hrs. We decided to go to the accident spot to have a look in the daylight. We boarded a KSRTC bus and requested the bus conductor to give a stop near the spot. To our surprise he knew about the accident and started telling us that we were really lucky to have survived and told us we would realize that on seeing the spot. Soon we reached the spot and got down. We didn’t believe what we saw! Just about 3 feet from the place where the car was stuck, there was a free fall of about 30-40 feet! It was like an edge! There were trees but they were way far below. Just thinking about what would have happened if the car had slid another 2-3 feet sent a chill down everyone’s spine. Thanks to the rock. All were shocked and again realized we had been very very lucky. We took some photographs at the spot and returned and no one uttered a word on the way back. Came back and started enquiring about transportation to transport the vehicle to Bangalore. We found out that there were only mini-trucks available. Since Cielo was a big car we went on enquiring and looking for a big truck, but with no luck. Later on, without any other option left, we finalized a Tata 407 with a considerably bigger body. We negotiated on the price and Rs.6K was settled. In the evening, around 6 P.M. we went to the police station and as promised everything was ready. We took all the needed documents and believe me there was no greasing of palms, the police were really helpful throughout. After having a little of something to eat, we all boarded the Tata 407, 3 in the cabin and 3 in the rear carrier. We reached the village where we had left the car. The issue now was, how to move the car onto the truck? An elevated platform was required. Hmm another problem.

@Dolphin... still looking to find out how the car was taken to garage and your home, repair costs, insurance reimbursement etc. 1. What happened to Uncle/Aunty and your friend(girl) after the saga was over? 2. What happened to the 2nd male friend? 3. Did you sell the cielo or continue to use it? 4. Did you ever do this journey ever again?
