Boy u sure seemed to have enjoyed every moment of it.. But man with those tires, doing that speed, u did it even though u knew it was bad is very unwise..
Nyways, get new set of wheels and get set go.. But she definetly seemed to be a good driven eh.. Nowdays, we hear lot of me VS woman stories.. Not bad at all.. Sounds really really kool...

Beats me. AC's figures are not realistic. How can a 100bhp car, with the exact dimensional, aerodynamical and weight specification be as fast as a 106bhp car on the same chassis???

I can't comment on the Baleno's 185kmph top speed as the aerodynamics and the lighter kerb weight might be helping it. But, the City 1.5 matching the Vtec in top speed is un-logical. It's physically not possible.

Do they use different gear ratios? If they do, it is possible.

I don't think there's any change in the gear ratios. And the point to be taken is that both cars have a aerodynamically limited top speed.

Th City 1.5's 4th gear is good for 196kmph and the Vtec's is good for 205kmph. So there's no question of these cars redlining in 4th.

Ya, it struck me as a bit strange too... tho I think that the City is more aerodynamicalle efficient than the Baleno - does it really make a difference at the top speeds that these wtp (stock) cars can achieve.
About the 100 vs 106 BHP, I know this is going to sound stupid, but if those figures are right, then I'm gessing that the extra 6 BHP only help in getting to that speed faster... tho there's every chance and more that I'm totaly wrong...!

Your theory would have been right if the Vtec was heavier or had a higher drag coefficient but that is not the case, they're both the same weight and have the same chassis and body design.

Question

well the vtec technology should make a big difference too shouldnt it ..........
but the same top speeds for both the cars is def not justified....

When the Vtec hit 185kmph during the OD test, the speedo was showing 195kmph. Now, i've taken my car to 195kmph (speedo) on a flat road and it just wouldn't go faster than that. So 185kmph is as fast as a Vtec will go on the flat surface.

GTO managed 190kmph (speedo) on his Vtec with 5 people in the car. (Please do not try doing this).

The 1.5 matching the Vtec is out of the question.
