Very bad accident, May thier souls RIP!

This road s very scarry, lots of truck traffic...they over take haphazardly.
If one is in a hurry then avoid this road.

Sad to see such gruesome pics in the morning news paper; we have young lives being snuffed up in accidents everyday.

OT: Its not just the road accident, think about the Infosys BPO guy incident in Bangalore last week, he was just 27yrs.

Oh that's sad!
Similar kind of accident happened yesterday in Punjab, where a Scorpio rammed in a stationary iron laden truck from behind, all the 5-7 occupents died/some seriously injured in the crash.

Thats one horrible accident. A simple mistake leads to loss of life. It is beyond comprehension.

May god bless their souls!

A friend who witnessed this accident says that the Accent was at fault as he was already driving very rashly and tried a very rash overtaking move that resulted in this accident. The car was indeed pushed back due to the momentum of the truck but it was not 30 - 40 feet like reported by TOI. It was only about 10 - 12 feet.

OT: TOI reports these days seem to be too masala filled for my liking. Anyone else feel the same?

This is normal state highway. It's 2 laned and quite OK to drive. You need not slow down or get down from road when you need to pass vehicle on opposite side.

Very bad judgement while overtaking by car may be responsible for this accident.

I agree.

The lorry, I guess would have been doing 45-60kmph. That too it is fully loaded with bags of wheel. These guys even if they want may not be able to do high speeds with the load they have. Because of their speed, i have faced it little difficult to overtake since they go slow, and overtaking is almost next to impossible with those on coming traffic too.

Agree with you, the traffic is heavy from which overtaking is aint easy. so this was the reason i mentioned that if one is in hurry then this road is best avoided.
