There is a huge traffic pile up from Cyber Gateway towards Raheja Mindspace because of water logging. The queue is increasing and may reach till Cyber Towers soon. The other side of the road also has little water but no traffic jam.

The traffic was pretty clear from Masab Tank till Panjagutta, indeed very less than the normal traffic everyday, crossed the signal at Road no:12 junction in no time.

This morning's traffic between Kukatpally and Secunderabad (Paradise Junction) was surprisingly sparse. The roads were not water-logged inspite of the rains.

I overslept. Woke up late.
Left for office at about 10:45 from Masab Tank.
Missed all the traffic jams and reached Gateway by 11:10.

lovely weather. Hope it continues raining.

But so sad about the PatnyNagar mess.

Also adding to the woes is Rajiv Gandhi's birthday today - the right turn from Raj Bhawan Road towards Secunderabad at Somajiguda Circle was closed to enable VIP to say Hi! to the statue while aam public was being diverted to take a slight left at the signal and then U-turn opposite Khazana and merging with the Jubilee Hills-Secunderabad traffic at a spot where the road is a single lane - 6 lanes of traffic converging to a single lane - this was at 09:45 am today morning.

News update on traffic cannot get better than this. 6 people's update for today morning traffic. Great going.

Today, I left Himayathnagar at 9:30am and reached Gachibowli at 10:20am through my regular route of Rd.10-->Whisper Valley-->Gachibowli road. Usual traffic, nothing spectacular either ways

What would be the best route from Life Style to Big Bazar in a car:

a) Life Style - Green Park - Ameerpet - Left Turn - U-Turn at Srinagar Colony Ameerpet Road T-Junction - Big Bazar

b) Life Style - Kakatiya - Hyderabad Central - Straight - Nagarjuna Circle - U-Turn - Punjagutta Junction - Left - Big Bazar

c) Life Style - Kakatiya - Hyderabad Central - Police Station - Left Turn - Left turn - Left Turn - Punjagutta Junction - Straight - Big Bazar

d) Life Style - Kakatiya - U-Turn just before Home Town - Left Turn - Exide Battery - Lane - Right Turn onto Ameerpet Road - Big Bazar

My take:

(a) A U-Turn at Srinagar Colony T-Junction is a mess and travel time wise the route is longer

(b) Smoothest unless there is a traffic pile up at Punjagutta

(c) At par with (b) except there are 2 speed breakers in the lane behind the police station

d) Exide Battery lane has a few speed breakers and is in pathetic condition but is an excellent route to avoid Punjaugutta Junction traffic jam

Route d---the Exide battery lane will force you to turn left towards Panjagutta when you meet the main road---so can you take a U turn at Panjagutta?

Hyd Traveller, that is messiest route anybody can ask for.

My suggestion would be :-

Lifestyle--> take right turn towards greenlands and go up to ameerpet crossroad and take left and park car on left side and cross over and go to big bazar, finish your shopping and take the left lane to come back to ameerpet crossroads if you stay there or head straight if you stay at panjagutta or beyond.

Simple

Huge traffic pile up between Erramanzil redlight to Khairatabad circle. Just too much traffic. Took three green signals to cross the Khairatabad circle.

If you drive at 8AM on Rd 12, be prepared for a couple of School Buses.

Yesterday was stuck behind a diesel fuming monster from hell.
I also saw a Chirec bus, with a note saying its got a speed limiter.
But it had all the windows closed with an externally mounted iron bar. No safe exits on that school bus.

Avoid the Gachibowli -Mehdipatnam road between 4 and 5 in the evening.
Too many rashly driven college buses.

Some race against each other and have no concern for other road users.

Folks, most of you must have noticed the 2 deep cuts on that narrow stretch of Durgam Cheruvu road between Nectar Gardens and the place where we need to take a perpendicular left. This apart, there is a huge crater at the left turn. As a result, it takes more than 5 minutes to traverse 250 metres.

I've started taking the Whisper Valley route again to avoid those impediments. However, even the Whisper Valley road (Narne Road) is in a bad shape, with several cuts and narrow stretches. So it is back to the 'devil and deep sea' business once again.

Except for the last turn on the steep, this road has now much better. Their is a crane at the last turn that is a slight hinderance but other than that this road has always been a breeze

Yep, but even the other road---via Durgam Cheruvu has been re-laid--I mean on those cuts and craters, and now traffic seems to be smooth.
