90-110 is pretty much enjoyable for me on normal highways. The Mum-Pune expressway is around 120.

Just make sure that I keep the rpm under 2500. The drive becomes sweet.

80-100 kmph for me. Never do more than 100kmph except on a really good strech where i take it to 120 max. Never know when a idiot pushing a bicycle will cross the roads.

Yeah me too cruise in the 100-120 range in Dad's Alto VXi1.1 as its comfortable & also have enough power left to overtake any vehicle in front without any shifting.

Shan2nu, do you consider 30-60kmph on a long distance journey as poll option?
Firstly, relaxed cruise mode need not necessarily be during a long distance journey. I just mentioned it coz that's the only time i get to practice it. It maynot be the case with others.

2ndly, we have so many members on our site who own all sorts of vehicles ranging from 50cc mopeds to 500bhp supercars.

I know 30-60kmph is a sensible speed as i used to ride a Kinetik V2 back in 99' and 40kmph used to be my relaxed cruising speed. And what about those who might be owning a Reva (which has a top speed of 55kmph). Hehe

dont know how you reach faster.as i have always noticed that unless you are on something like the expressway or if its early morning ,no matter how fast you go,the average speed always stays between 55-60kph on our highways.

so 90-100 or 110-120 will not help u reach quicker at all.

I prefer 80-100 normally on the highways and maybe slightly more on the expressway.

Well depends which car I am driving, since I usually take out my Alto,I do a decent 80 to 100 kph...when I am in my Rider I go upto 120kph. It also depends on which road I am driving, B'lore roads are awefully jammed, so I prefer to go beyond electronic city and then step on the gas.

80-100 kmph on roads without any dividers and shoulders. 100-120 with them. For me, below 3000 rpm, 5th gear is relaxed driving.

My Palio GTX can cruise all day at 120-140kmph but unfortunately our highways dont let you do that.

I believe that in most vehicles, the speed at which the speedo needle is pointing straight up is the ideal and most comfortable cruising speed in top gear.
With that in mind,
Indica LSi - 90 kmph
KB125 - 70 kmph

Am I wrong in my assumption?

I have driven Indica, Indigo and Getz. For indica its always around 110, for the indigo it was 110-130 and ditto for getz. If indica/indigo had more power then 130-140 would be comfortable as the cars feel planted and stable at high speeds. Cant say the same for getz. 155 wide tyres are dangerous above 130 i think.
