Default Finally.. got Leh'ed!

So finally, the dream came true! After months of planning, I finally reached the place where I wanted to go since the 90s!

And after a very long and tiring journey, I am back with lots of memories to cherish.. and lots of pictures to gaze at!

Certain highlight points:
205/55 R15 S.Drives.. I am back with a battered suspension, but they were a dream on the perfectly smooth curvy roads (hema malini's cheeks types).. wherever I found them. And no punctures!!

The roads on the manali-leh route, although picturesque, were so bad, that I decided to take the Srinagar route while coming back.

The route:
Delhi - Chandigarh - Kullu - Manali - Keylong - Sarchu - Pang - Leh

Leh - Srinagar - Udhampur - Pathankot - Delhi

Rest later.. I am dying to share the pictures! :

I must say.. my respect for the Logan has increased. The kind of roads I had to ride on.. there was gravel, stones, ice, mud.. it just sailed through. Although, I have now lost count of how many times the underbelly was scraped but no major harm was done. Only the joint in the silencer which was welded (during the fitting of the FFE) broke (that too near Pathankot). Got the welding done at Pathankot itself.

And then, I thought, after going through the thrashing, atleast the alignment must be out.. but, it drove perfectly on the smooth roads and there was no problem in hi-speed driving on the NH1.

The only problem, there has been a lot more rattling (especially the window glasses), which can be fixed. Will give the car for servicing tomorrow and get everything tightened!

I had left on July 2nd. Made night halts at Kullu, Manali, Keylong, Pang and then stayed in Leh for four days. Visited Khardung La, Nubra valley, Pangong Lake. Then went to Srinagar via Kargil, Drass, Zozilla Pass, Sonmarg on the 10th.

Left Srinagar yesterday at 7:15am and reached NOIDA this morning at 2:30 am.

So many BHP'ians getting Leh'ed off late. Waiting for the pics and the details of the travelogue.

Btw, yours is the best Logan I've seen till date.

You din't have any problem with a FWD car for this particular trip?

Nowhere. Heck, I saw 10 yr old M800s parked in remote villages.

The car looks great with those projector headlamps. I was also doing that route in the last week of june and we finished it on the first week of july. We were on bikes.
