155km/hr in my getz 1.3L stock only performance tyres,could have gone more but was damn scared if something came in the way

I went a little over 240km/hr in my 525d on the expressway recently...i think i could have managed at touched down on 260 but ran out of road.
Must say even at that speed the car made me feel astonishingly secure.

Not to sound a sadist here but thats an illusion that you get, nothing can protect you at those speeds.

It might be, i didnt touch 250... saw the needle go slightlly past 240 and let go. The rpm needle indicated that it had enough steam to touchdown, nor did i find any hestitation from the engine. So if it has not been limited it would definatly touch 260.

@dadu- I meant it in terms of stablity and control ...the car stuck to the road and riding on run flats did give me a slight peace of mind to push it that extra edge. But yes nothing at 240km/hr can be regarded as completly SAFE.
