240kmph on my FireBlade (articles elsewhere on this forum).

And that was an indicated speed achieved on the NICE road outside Bangalore. To be honest, I barely touched the number and immediately backed off the throttle, and stood on the brakes IN FEAR, so in all it must have been a total of a fraction of a second. While that feather in my cap was awaiting a standing ovation and invitation to the Oscars, another brilliant bloke in my gang hit AND held 299! on that same stretch of road...for a considerable distance too.

I think he was astride a GIXXER. Awesome rider. Incredible sound from his stump can.

On that same ride, a chum whacked a Tata Safari head-on at 190 kmph with his Busa and he's still comatose and being supported by a ventilator. I said it once and I'll say it again, these machines are toys as much as an AK 47 is one. Practice. Listen to and learn from more experienced bikers. It may make you feel small for that moment, BUT it could save your life.

One way to survive for the next ride is to respect your machine. And leave your ego at home. Remember always: it's one matter to crank your machine up to enviable speeds, but try to keep in mind what it takes to stop her when the unexpected happens. Who is the hero- the guy who hits 300 kmph and it ends up being his last ride...OR the bloke who only did 220 kmph, but could come back for another round the next week and another and another. Nothing is absolute. Those kind of heroics are written in water.

Default 50000kms old WagonR at 130kmph

I managed 130kmph on the Chennai-Bangalore Highway with my wagonR that is more than 50000 kms old. Before my last trip the max was 120kmph. However this time I guess with the aid of the wind 130kmph was possible. Of course I had a couple of passengers at the rear seats. Unfortunately I couldn't click the picture at 130kmph

Good that you ran out of road and good you did not run into something else. 130 inside the city and in rush hour traffic??!! By all means, go check out the top speeds on the track or something, but not on public roads.

Have touched 220 kmph a few times on the Yamaha on through the sunday rides, once i did just a shade above 220, and had to slow down for a curve which was approaching.
Needless to say at 220, the Ace would just begin gettin cocky with a loot remaining to be whacked open.

Thats a good speed Vikram, how much does it do stock?

I guess having a digital speedo has benefits since there is no end to speed limit on Speedo unlike analog speedos

Why not have them click the picture? Not very safe multitasking while driving.
