Wink

The max i have done is 110 kmph on my silver fiero
it was on the bangalore - mysore highway...
well this was not the most exciting part...

On the way back it was 8:00 in the night.
And i had a pillion with a rugsack hanging behind.
Was just following the car in front.

Traffic is quite high on these roads and cars travel in convoys,
going as fast as the first car in front.
Not that there are dacoits. There is very little chance of overtaking,
since there is a constant flow of oncoming traffic.

Now out of nowhere this lance guy cuts in and man was i not p****d.
Then it began..the demorash...
after that i bet every other car/truck/bus/minivan/lcvs/bikes...u name it...
(that was in front) going from mysore to bangalore...including the lancer...
(bikes have their own advantages)
it was an hour of pure unadultrated adrenalin...

Doubt whether i would get the same kick...
travelling at 200 kmph on a straight road, cocooned in a car.

As a passenger 0.8 mach (about 500 knots) about tree top level in an Marine Harrier :-)

As drivre 220 kmph from Hannover to Frankfurt. We had 2 hrs to get there. what made it scary was this was in winter and there were patches with snow. in an Audi A6.

If it does, my tops is 650 kays in a Lufthansa Boeing 747.

I was kidding turbo. see the smiley? and the caeveat (audi on the autobahn) that followed.

wow does a 747 fly faster than mach 1 (585 knots)? I was quite sick even at 0.8. My godfather who arranged this at Edwards AFB had told me not to drink too much. Glad I listened. I dont know what the max Gs ew pulled were. A lot of the time I had my eyes closed.

actually you dont need to go fast to get your adrenilin up. i once did a 540 at Limerock CT (Skip Barber) at about 30-60mph (I was not looking at the speedo sorry) in a modded mazda 323 and boy was i scared. thankfully it was in the XY axis only.

160kmph - Palio 1.6 on the East coast road

140kmph - '99 carb Zen with a free flow exhaust on the East coast road

160kmph - Astra 1.6 Mpfi on the Chennai-Bangalore still under construction expressway

On the Palio and Astra could have gone higher but ran out of road.

As a passenger 240kmph on the German Autobahn in a BMW 5 series!

Claimed top speed, 182 mph, so you should get upto 290 kmph easy, though I dont recommend it on the expressway, especially because at that speed you would cover 80 metres every time you'd sneeze. And in every 80 metres, you'd probably find 5 cars changing lanes at the same time, without any indication.

why would anyone sneeze when driving at 200+ kmph ?

but you got a good point there
doing those high speeds on express way will be crazy

Imagine you in that speed and cars doing 100kmph n second lane. So cars at 150kmph will be in first lane and third lane full of trucks. Where would you go?? I would highly recomend you not to do so..
