Dude, u did this speeds in inner ring road which has 2 sharp turns and is just 4km long....Be careful, that is not the place to do speed testing (i still doubt those speeds though)...
About 2 years, a guy doing high speeds hit the median, went to other lane and hit an auto, killing the poor auto driver for no reason....

Pls spare a thought for the adjacent people and vehicles when u try them...

Not a chance!!!

An exhaust sytem tuned for top speed and a performance air filter put in the lancer will let you go to 185-190kmph tops
Ofcourse more serious engine/electronics mods may permit you to go to 200kmph.

A very well maintained stock lancer will get you to 175-178 kmph. This will be after flooring the accelerator for a long while with no turns. My lancer will do 175 often on the way to pune (I assume there will be some speedo error too, I have 15" rims, well balanced, with 205/15/50 goodyear eagle F1 tyres, that I rotate every 8000 kms)

On that particular day, it was a clear road for a long time and I was able to maintain a constant 175-180 kmph. I believe the road coming out of the second tunnel had a slight downward gradient too, which aided me to reach that speed. I immediately asked my sister to take a picture (she was in the car with me).

My only point here was, that by spending some more money on an exhaust system and a filter etc etc, you can increase your speed by another 5 to 6 KMPH, thereby taking you upto 190 KMPH tops. Again, this is with whatever half knowledge i have, I am no Viper or Psycho.
All I am saying is that a stock lancer sold in India will not do 200kmph.

Okay guys I did > 260kmph on the Lumina yesterday (dont know how much more because the Speedo runs out at 260) after getting the rev-limiter disconnected temporarily. The needle SURGED (yes SURGED) upto 260 and the car continued pulling thereafter - not sure how fast we actually went.

And while returning home after all those theatrics I got rear-ended by a Toyota Corolla on the highway. Have a small scratch on my rear bumper (and a GREEN accident report from the police saying its not my fault) while the Corolla had to be towed away - his bonnet looked like its been smashed in. He also got the RED (guilty) tab!!!

I would, if you were ahead of me.
However on this return trip you were behind, all the way.

I know what you'll say now, you weren't in the mood, however my boy, you are ALWAYS in the mood , it's just that IMO the lancer (a heavier car) with bigger boots, hugs the road better on turns.

However yes, gentlemen, revvhead, on the way to lonavala, from mumbai did touch 190 in his Baleno, (14" wheels, michelin certis 195/60/14) with a K&N air filter and an exhaust, that was tuned for top speed (the exhaust note is super throaty and sounds great). And he was ahead of me.

However this only fortifies my point.
The Baleno, modded (albeit not too much) was not much higher on top speed *shrug* just 5kmph more.
