Default Broad day light robbery at outer ring road Bangalore

This happened to my colleague day before yesterday. He was driving from Bannerghatta road to Whitefield via the outer ring road.
Just before Marathahalli, before the BWSSB facility on the left, He was robbed in broad day light by a gang of robbers. The robbers moving in 2 cars and a 2 wheeler forced him to park the car on the side of the road and robbed him of his gold chain and other valuables by threatening him with Lethal weapons.

Unfortunately this incident happened in at 2 pm in the middle of traffic.

Baap re, in broad daylight ? This is horrible. How safe are we ? What did the Police have to say ? I hope your colleague noted the numbers of the thug vehicles mentally/physically. There is little one can do when surrounded by a mob. Discretion is the better part of valour.

The indifference shown by the public to victims of road rage, accidents, etc on Bangalore roads is being taken advantage of by these goons.

No one stops to help and the goons know that.

I agree with Spitfire; high time commuters get involved and start helping people on the road at least this will instill some fear in these goons.

Once again proves my contention that we do NOT have any Police in Bangalore.

I can cite many other examples to prove my point....we just have a few men roaming around, talking to owners of roadside/corner shops - they also, by sheer chance, happen wear uniforms.

That would not have been such a bad thing. Unfortunately, it is going to the humans.
To expect any action from the goofs in khakhi is foolish. I guess its every man for himself.
Anyone have a link to the newspaper article?

That's positively scary. Does anyone know if the person who was robbed, was driving with car windows rolled down?

Did he have his doors unlocked or windows rolled down? No one really knows what happened out there, but I would surely lock my doors, roll up the windows and try to call the cops asap. If matters got worse I would try to get out of that place and drive to the nearest police station (even if it meant running over their bike, personal safety comes ahead anyday over not harming these thugs). These days, with the number of murders happening around town, what is the guarantee that you will not be harmed even on co-operating with them?
