After couple of weeks on the flyover I have given up. It is no worth the money I pay. The time difference between flyover and road below is a mere 10-15 minutes. And above all you should be carefull about the interceptor if leaving before 6 pm Instead I had decided to use the money on fuel.

Have they started operating 3 dedicated lanes for the OBU at the Electronics City toll gate ?

The move is counter productive because even though 3 toll gates are available for OBU uses, there are only 2 lanes on the down ramp leading to the toll gates. This creates a bottle neck at the down ramp.

It would be better if they continue with 2 OBU lanes and 2 cash lanes for 4-wheelers.

Bangalore Traffic Police revised speed limits on City limits to 60km/hr for cars and 50km/hr for bikes. Only BIA road is excepted from the limits. No idea about the speed limit on BETL.

It used to vary earlier depending on the roads. I recall the earlier ACP mentioning on Facebook that the limit for LMVs within the city was 50 kmph, 2W was 40 kmph, except on the new Airport road, which was 80 for LMVs. The limit has been increased and made less confusing now. Hope the Volvos within Bangalore follow the 50 kmph. (Asking for a lot i know)

Where exactly is this speed cam? I have seen a speed cam on the surface road near Dakshin Honda but haven't noticed anything on the tollway.

The signs on the toll way still says 80 and the interceptors are not intercepting anyone above 60.

Left office a little early today - around 7:30 pm and took the BETL road back towards Silk-board. Wow, whattay traffic jam on the elevated road!

Does this happen a lot nowadays? I mean, I've seen the traffic pile up on the BETL but it was much shorter jams. Todays was huge - the jam started even before Hotel Ibis.

Yes, it is a regular affair now, thanks to the "innovative" barricade placement near the Mahindra showroom just before silk board fly over.

Yes, I cannot understand the logic behind the "barricades" at all! Isn't it actually more of a bottle-neck and a hazard rather than a "traffic-slowing-thingie"? I mean, it is left haphazardly even in afternoon traffic and some vehicles barely miss it!

That barricade is supposed to be a pedestrian crossing! On a National Highway!

Sometimes traffic cops stop traffic at the barricade for 1 or 2 mins to allow pedestrians to cross the road.

Why can't the concerned authorities erect an overhead pedestrain crossing at that place, if there is so much pedestrian movement ?

Or is it that they get a kick by blocking the IT crowd ?

IIRC, there are pedestrian sub-ways at intervals below the BETL. Understand that there aren't enough of them and most of them are non-functional (AFAIK). Also, this should have been thought of even before the construction of the BETL started. I mean, pedestrians are not given enough importance on roads! And because they don't have any other choice, they jump onto main roads to cross across.
