Default Finally, a coat of tar for the Inner Ring Road (Bangalore)

The long overdue asphalting work has been taken up on the Inner Ring Road here at Bangalore.

The stretch from Ejipura signal to Domlur flyover has been prepared for asphalting, and the asphalting work has already been completed for about 25% of the stretch.

Hope the fast pace of work is maintained, and we get a brand new road by the weekend

Can some one tell me what was wrong with the earlier road .I travel on this road every day for past 5- 6 years . It was just perfect .

There was no need to reorder the dividers or the Krebs on the either side . The side reflectors are now under the tar ,what a waste of money again .Again they will install new ones and again a coat of reflector paint .

Some one got really rich just to relay the tar , what a waste of money .

If you look properly they have widen the road slightly. The tar was really required at the starting of the ring road (Domlur side). It was a horrible. Lets wait till the mansoon, that time will only show the exact capality of the new construction. Hope the water will not clog near the Pizza Hut and also side of the road.
Innerrinng road also need some tree on both the side. Almost no shade at all.

The worst portion of this stretch is near Giria's showroom (near the speed breakers). I hope that gets covered today. This area gets waterlogged during the monsoons because of very poor drainage, inspite of the biggest drain duct passing through Domlur nearby (what an irony!), that's the reason why the road here is susceptible to damage.

As rightly observed by Arin and Jav, the road is getting widened, and therefore receiving the coat of tar as a part of this exercise, I guess.

The kerbs are also being prepared, to help pedestrians, who had no choice earlier other than walking on the road. Hope the good work continues!

Yes, it's widen now. The divider is shredded a bit, proper foot path is made on both the sides and as a result new coat is done. It's better that they applied coat all over the road rather putting patch near the divider. Also, humps near Dell are much better now.

Yes, the road work seems complete, but the interlocking cement blocks for the kerb are still under progress at some places.

Strange, but the road seems a bit bumpier after the coat of tar, at some places. Wonder what sort of quality checks are carried out to certify the work.
