Zaks.. I can understand the situation you are in right now. My cousin bro was involved in a similar accident and he too was DUI. I am sure your brother will come out alright from this. Have faith in the Almighty. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Wish your bro a speedy and healthy recovery.

Thanks for all your wishes. He is recovering slowly, regained consciousness yesterday and was able to recognize his friends. But he was still in some trauma and the doctor says that will improve in the coming days. He has got a fracture in the knee and a tiny possible rupture of the spleen which is being closely monitored.
The good news is that the head injury is healing by itself and doesn't require any surgery.

Pray your brother recovers.
I don't want to advice at this hour. When your brother comes around, he'd be a changed man for sure.
And your reporting is enough for all other readers who think DUI is a not a big issue and they are in control to re-think.

Good to hear & I'm happy for you. As soon as he's discharged, the first thing he may want to do is enroll for membership here & order TBhp stickers. It will change his driving habits for sure & keep him much above than any average commuter.

Happy to hear this Zaks. He will recover completely and will be soon back to normal. Keep him happy during the recovery phase, helps a lot.

Buy a very good quality helmet for him and MAKE him wear it strapped and secured.

Good to know that Zaks. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
+1 to what Mx6 said. He will be a different person following his recovery. His driving habits will change. Drinking and driving dont go together. For few, it might be alright and habitual, but personally, i dont let my friends drive when they are drunk. I dont drink, so i take over the wheels.

good to hear, he is recovering fast. i wish him back to normal soon. and don't let him ride his bike for a year so. and you gift him a QC passed branded helmet. helmet is the only protective gear we wear in normal day to day driving in India. at least let Helmet be the good one. @sheel, not zaks or his brother to learn a lesson, after this indecent, all his friends and family members changes their riding style for sure. but others who wear cheap helmets to avoid cops must learn from it. driving faster is not at all wrong, but one should calculate them self at what speed they should drive considering surface of the roads, weather, road deviations, traffic, time, vehicle condition, mental condition. if one cannot calculate all these and judge, please drive slowly.
