Gta bombay, Hats off to your courage and perseverance.
Wish there was an award to honour civilians like you,
who play an important role in weeding out the corrupt & criminal.

I assume he was caught to stop the money laundering route to UP elections by congress party. And I can safely say, he would have been on the run till UP elections were to be held next year.

Where is the Pajero? In UP? Has it been actually traced to be returned to the owner?

Looks like gtabombay had a lot to do with the nabbing of this low life. Kudos to you gtabombay!

And it's funny how he was caught finally, only after murdering one person. God knows how many others he has killed. I hope the court fast-tracks the case and justice is given to the victim and all those who were affected by his onslaught. And I hope he has to stare at the 4 walls of a maximum-security prison for years and years to come.

Unfortunately, these inmates find a way out somehow, and it's rampant in India.

Link.

A must have accessory for all Mitsubishi Pajero's in my opinion.
All,

Kindly help me undestand the logic.

As per GTO and which is a fact, Pajero does not have an immobiliser.

As per the "link" provided by moralfibre, Hindustan trackers were ready to "freeze" the vehicle if needed. I would like to know how the vehicle would have been frozen if need be as Pajero does not have an immobilzer. Is immobilizer or similar added as a part of the tracking system or is there something that i am missing.

The guy mentioned in the article had an aftermarket vehicle tracker/immobilizer provided by a company 'Hindustan Tracker'.

I went through the hindustan tracker site and infer that ther product has only "immobilzer functions" i.e. they can activate the immobilizer through the satellite or their admin application console. The product description no where mentions that they offer "immobilizer" along with the product.

IMHO fitting an immobilizer is best left with the manufacturer and not at all recommended to fit aftermarket. Needless to say it would void your warranty.

A car without warranty is better then a missing car Given that Pajero does not have any anti-theft features out-of-box, after market security systems are a necessity.

Great effort and courage by gtabombay.
IMO,the single most SAD,SHOCKING AND DISTURBING fact is if police had reacted earlier after all these efforts by gtabombay, life of ghatkopar businessman could have been saved.

Excellent news. Hoping that this guy is put behind bars and not allowed to wriggle out from the law. I also noticed that the Antop Hill police got the chance to question him first due to the theft of a Pajero and credit card. That's the same Pajero that GTABombay reported on this thread. A big hand of applause definitely goes to GTA for his efforts! Sad that the businessman had to lose his life

Was his arrest politically motivated ? You know, with the upcoming elections in his home state and all, it might be deemed appropriate to clip his wings a bit.
In this case, it would be a bit sad, because he might be let off as soon as things cool down a bit.
