C'mon guys. Get 5 guys to jump on the roof of a Roll's and the same thing would happen.

Whoa! I thought Maruti had forgotten installing brakes or engine in the SX4. The title is definitely misleading.

And BTW, I don't think it is alright to criticize the build quality after seating 2-3 huge cricketers on the top of a car - may it be any car.

Guys! why fix the roof luggage carrier if any car can take the load of 500 kgs without caving in?

Someone mentioned to me yesterday that they actually got onto the car with spiked shoes (the same that the use during the game).

Also that Maruti will not deliver the 'same' car to the winner; but a new piece...... it is a small price to pay for the publicity that would be generated by having the car do victory laps around the ground.

It would have been more embarrassing for Maruti if Australia had won the T20 match and they had to gift it to some OZ player. I wonder whether anyone would ship it all the way to Australia

At least they will not have problem of giving a Right hand Drive vehicle to an Australian.

I thing the roof cave is to be expected, it is to protect your head from elements, not to support your errr, bottom.

Hahaha..this is exactly what I thought would happen, when I saw those guys get onto the roof of the car. 10-13 players on the car,and I would have expected the thing to sit like a rock.

OT: didn't Abdul Razzaq once get a black Kawasaki Ninja as the Man of the Match trophy??

500 kgs? Dude, that's almost half the weight of a small car!

By the way, carriers are not bolted onto the top.

Once a 50kg concrete slab fell from a height of 20 meters on our fiat palio which has tank like build.
As expected the concrete block shattered into pieces and our tank like built palio did not have a single scratch

I think being car lovers also makes a lot of us very very demanding. Often to the point of being unjustifiably so. A lot of people here complain too much and just fill up space!

I admit maruti cuts corners...
I admit its quality is RELATIVELY bad

However i believe, it makes pratical cars for the masses. After all the govt used to hold 50 equity in it!!

Without getting into too much argument i would say all Maruti models have been more or less runaway successes. Despite antiquated laws, a horrible infrastructure and one of the worlds most inept political scene Maruti is no slouch! Just look at how so called 'premium' companies have fared in India and you will understand what i mean.

That is a little hard to believe.

You do realize that 20m is about 60 feet? It boggles my mind to think about about the build quality of your Palio
