| For a diesel engine, continuous driving does not make any difference as long as the cooling sysems are working properly. I have driven 46 hours non-stop in my Scorpio and faced no probelms. In any case, I routinely drive non-stop for long hours (24 hours plus) with engines being switched off for not more than 5-10 minutes each during refuellings without any trouble. Same with my earlier petrol Matiz and my diesel Mahindra Commander.

| Senior - BHPian | No, I think all cars are tested by its manufacturer for reliability by driving it non-stop for more than 24 hrs..

| Senior - BHPian | Adulterated fuel would result in sputtering, missing, bad FE, smoke emission etc. But, that would be the cause of the temp nearing redline is not known.

| BHPian | I think your radiator has gotten clogged with dust/sand. Go to a petrol pump and get that cleaned. Don't let them spray water first. 1. Ask them to use the compressed air to blow the dust from the radiator + condenser. This loosens up the dirt and blows most of it out. 2. Then use the high pressure water to spray and clean the radiator. 3. Use the compressed air again to dry off. Usually these guys spray water first and then use the air, what that does is dislodge the dirt and then again dry it off in the fins, before it is washed out completely.

| BHPian | Give them Rs 40-50 for chai-pani. Shouldn't take more than 10-15 mins. Or you could get your car serviced from the petrol pump. (I think its called water service) Where they hoist the car on the ramp and clean it with the high pressure hose. Any decent pump should be able to do it.
