| BHPian | So CR-V is really drinking a lot of petrol and I think we need another car in Bombay so, going to Delhi to get one of the diesel beast. Most probably it would be accent CRDI as it is the most fuel efficient and cheapest of the slot so good for daily use. My dad thinks it would be more fun if I went from train . Nevermind any experience good or bad teaches you something, hopefully this would to.Tickect booked for tommorrow early morning. Route that would be taken when I get the car obviously NH-8 Best Driving Directions, Local Driving Directions Map, National Highway 8, Road Map Delhi to Mumbai, Distance Map from Delhi to Mumbai would be taking a detour for chittaurgarh, cause road is real good, while it is single road on NH8 on that stretch. Next, one when I would be leaving NH8 would be ahmadabad for national express way-1 between ahmadabad and vadodara. (best patch) Would be writting a full report when i am back. Distance: 1450km (one way) estimate time to be taken: 20hrs. CR-V on the roll ![]() Last edited by CR-V : 17th May 2008 at 13:18. |

| A friend drove from Bombay on NH8 yesterday - left Bombay at 3 am, reached Kishangarh at 9 pm (1150 kms). Road is fast and good as usual, notwithstanding he South Gujarat road widening botttlenecks. |

| Senior - BHPian | Hai CRV, Wish you Godspeed and Safety on the ride. Please log conditions between Baroda to Navsari, specially if you can observe the latest condition of road widening, jams etc., This section is a bannana-skin for planners, jams can bog you down!!! Me and a lot of others would be grateful for any update on this section. Happy Driving, --Ramky ============== |

| Senior - BHPian | Best of Luck for your jouney. Yes, the Chittaurgarh road is smooth on NH8 and so is the Ajmer - Jaipur highway. A breeze. |

| BHPian | Completed the trip and reached yesterday evening. after national express way 1 that is after baroda till surat the road is real bad. single road, pot holes, traffic and all that after the 190 on the express way .but still the trip went real good and completed it in thd expected time of 20hrs. and that is non stop, by the end of the trip the engine got so hot that the car wouldn't accelerate and we had to pull over and throw water on the radiator. would write more details soon. How bad was Ankleshwar town traffic jams? And is the Chiittorgarh bypass anywhere near completion? | |

| BHPian | I was also confused about the heating part, asked the service station. They say it was because the A/C was also switched on continously. Still not convinced, will get the car check personally too. And yes the chittorgarh bypass is complete. And the whole stretch was full traffic from borada to surat and it got even worse at Ankleshwar and even in other towns on the way. |

| BHPian | Yes, it was a accent crdi just one year old. First the car started to slow down automatically, like I kept on pressing the accelerator but the RPM kept decressing. This was only for a few seconds but happened again and again. This was after my second fuel top up of the journey. I personally feel that this was due to adultrated fuel. After that the car temp. started to close on H and was just about to touch the red area, when I finally stopped. |

| Did you check whether the fan was working - engine overheating can happen if fan stops working for any reason, and that can also shut down the engine. |

| BHPian | Yeah, the fan and all were working fine. But continous driving for 20hrs is also a lot, or no? |

| Senior - BHPian | Throwing water on the radiator may not be a bright idea, unless the water is warm or hot. It could even crack the radiator. Thank your stars you made it despite the hurdle. |
