| Electrify your gate at night ! That should really be a satisfying experience. Why not register a complaint on the company being advertised. Are they not the perpetrators? |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | This is a serious menace. Nearly all the building gates of my lane have been plastered with these signs, some with 2 or 3 on the same gate! Do what I do : Tell your watchman / car wash chap to remove them on a daily basis. @ Esteem lover : Wicked suggestion on the scrap dealer ![]() Here is a related Hindu article |

| Great idea! Quote:
We had a problem with unwanted posters/ads on our compound wall - because our house sits exactly opposite the pvt. bus station. Finally, we 'rented out' the space on the compound wall to a jewellery. Now he has painted the wall with his jewellery ad and he also ensures that no other poster/ad is on the wall for more than 1-2 hours. | |

| This is a good solution, since everything gets cleaned out in the morning itself. Unfortunately, in my house I am the designated car wash chap, and my watchman ran away months ago ![]() Another idea struck me today. I will try to talk to our residents welfare association, who could give the contract for our entire area to the local scrap guy, who might suddenly show some interest on account of the increased numbers involved (economies of scale). I have a sneaky suspicion that the local scrap guy takes money for getting these boards fixed, and now he is going to get some more money to take them off as well ![]() |

| BHPian | My house is not on the main road but still we have these boards. My landlord doesn't mind. But I saw a new trend, two guys came yesterday, removed all the boards and fixed a new one (some packers and movers). Before there were 4 to 5, currently we have only one ![]() |

| BHPian | Put a Sticker "Stick no Bills, this gate is a private property, offenders will get Rs 10000/- Bill for each board", in English & Kanada, and see if it has any impact. |

| There are couple of boards hanging on the gates & Iam really not bothered about them on the gates. If it bothers me, probably I will remove them (using cutting plier) as it hardly takes any effort. The more Iam keen on maintaining the gates clean, the more Iam determined as it resurfaces . All others will require efforts as well you might loose your sleep chasing it. |

| The norm is their own advertising in huge letters, and the "no parking in front of the gate" as small as the statutory warning on cigarette packets! |

| Only one problem. If you remove the boards and others do not, your exit may be blocked far more! |

| This is how we deal with this menace! Our 24x7 security system. These guys mostly hang out around the gate and entrance day and night! Noone would dare touch the gate when they see an angry dobe standing next to it! ![]() Cheers! Last edited by james : 28th May 2012 at 11:30. |
