Has Audi India launched the A8 L 4.2 V8 TDI?

The A8's latest brochure which I received some days back from Audi Ludhiana has an interesting addition. While no different from the earlier brochure, the new page which shows the technical specifications of the A8L has a new addition: the 4.2 V8 TDI quattro in addition to 6.3 W12, 4.2 FSI and 3.0 TDi which were already available. Need to know that when was this model launched and whats the price tag. Will post the page pic, if needed on 6th.

I've even seen a 3.0T A8 in Mumbai. I didn't know that was available either.

Its not. Officially the 3.0t A8 is not on sale in India. Its primarily for the US market and places like the UAE etc. I am guessing it was not a previous gen so probably might be Audi India's car. One of the bosses driving around in it perhaps.

Dont know how reliable but the 4.2 TDi V8 is set to hit our shores mid next year according to Audi Mumbai.

I just saw the A8 3.0 tdi yest morning..There were two of them black color and registered and on taxi plates. So i am guessing they are owned by a Hotel.
I believe the Audi boss has a white A8 W12.

Yup i know the taxi A8s ( L O L) you are talking about. Surprisingly, i saw one of them exiting the lobby of the Taj . I thought Taj were loyal to Jaguars !

Yup the boss does move around in the W12. Have seen it parked at BKC. Beautiful car that, with its huge alloys and those monster exhausts. But i cant think of anyone else who could possibly run around in an A8 3.0T with these other 3 variants already on offer. Could be here just for sometime and sent back to Germany soon.

Nope, that was a 4.2 petrol. And these days it's an A7

Sorry to sound like a noob but is the A7 also launched in India? The A for Audi adverts in the Times the last couple of days feature an A7 in the lineup.

I believe you have it wrong..The German Boss of Audi had a White W12 which i have seen him being chauffered in myself. He could have changed the car now but i definately have seen him in it.

I saw the w12 pictured above at Prabhdevi last night

Yup that's the car. And the last time I saw it (two days back), it was in a pretty messy condition. I don't quite remember whether the front bumper was really dirty or had a crack. One of the two.

That car has awesome rims!

Sad that a car like this was in that condition.
