Thank you both. I googled some after reading your replies. Correct me if I'm wrong but is the S tag to Audi what AMG is to Mercedes, That being their in-house tuning division? & the RS tag being a 'Black Edition' of sorts?

The S badge denotes a sportier and faster version of the A series cars manufactured by Audi. The RS models are the top of the line performance models that are built by Quattro GmbH, a subsidiary of Audi and are direct competitors to the AMG and M cars from Mercedes and BMW. You can read more about the same here-

[quote=PlatzdaTurbo; these videos just defined it all for me. Complete annihilation-[/quote]

Hey there platzdaTurbo! I see you are a fan of the RS7. Just to let you know that these little drag races you see are not exactly telling you anything about the car itself. It just shows you the car launches well. The real way to see how a car moves is like on the m5board videos on Youtube. With these 'stand still to whatever' races and 'rear wheel drive' vs 'all wheel drive' what do get? "Nothing" to be honest, just a computer generated result. What you really have to see is the 50 kph to 250 kph pull. Then you will be able to tell which car is actually faster.
Cheers

Agreed. I'm not evening saying that.
This in no way judges the overall character of the car no doubt.
With the 2 videos and my comments on them i was only pointing out that specific aspect of the car - the launch & 0 to insanity timings.
Also love the looks of the car so am smitten.
Driving a Quattro Audi i know just how much under-steer there is in AWD cars and im unaware how much difference an active differential makes.
Will be very interesting to see an all out comparo between the M6/RS7 & CLS63.

Price is out 1.28cr ex-showroom Mumbai. The M5 should run for cover, the pricing is near identical but the quattro will deliver the power much much better to the ground compared to the M5 that will sit there wheel spinning.

If it's 1.28 cr. it's a steal, considering the M6, it's competitor is 1.58 cr. Actually the M6 GC would be it's direct competitor but It's not been launched here, so for now it competes with the M5/M6.

Audi has launched the RS7 Sportback in India at a price of Rs. 1,28,56,000.
It is powered by a 3993 cc, TFSI, biturbo, V8 engine, coupled to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox. With 560 hp and 700 Nm of torque at its disposal, this is the most powerful car Audi is offering in its line-up, eclipsing the R8 super car. The company claims that the RS7 has 0-100 kph time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 305 kph.

As most of you had said, a red RS7 has been given to Salman Khan by Audi India (Probably for brand endorsements). Attaching a pic of the same:-

Audi India to launch RS7 on Jan 6, 2014-image.jpg

I feel the RS7 is priced well, infact really well! It's nearest competitor in India, the Porsche Panamera Turbo will definitely touch the 2 crore mark, goin' by Porsche's India pricing. The M6 Gran Coupe and CLS AMG aren't here in India. But even in competition with M5 and E63, it accelerates quicker, is sexier than a regular A7 or the S6, faster than an R8 (Oh Ma! It also seats 4!) and is just hovering around the E63's price mark. But I still feel RS5 is better (my opinion only).

P.S. Time to let the Bank balance go loose!

Keep revvin'

The car just arrived in Salman's procession. Pardon the hazy pic due to low light.

His driver took it out for a spin and floored it hardddd. It sounds ammmazing, engine note is very different from the RS5. This is more AMG like, has a more profound rumble. It shot across the street like a rocket, very very quick indeed.

Wow ! So you are officially the first spotter of the car. It sure does look like a million bucks ( a lot more infact )
Im glad you said it sounds good since i was actually a bit anxious about how a turbocharged V8 would sound after years of using NA engines in RS cars. Fact that the M5 uses some sort of sound enhancement through its speakers (right?) also had me worried. I really hoped Audi wouldn't do that, atleast not with this piece of lunacy ! Is it as loud as your car or the AMGs though ?

Ah & fast.....3.9 (supercar killer) to 100 to your beast's 4.5/6 .Youv got serious company in the hood Sahil
Audi also has a habit of sharing conservative performance figures at times so i wonder if this thing might actually be a little quicker ? Just look what it does to that E 63 AMG S !! I know thats only RWD but it has 15 20hp more power, 100NM more torque and is also lighter IIRC !

Infact get your 0-100 shoots timed too ! They claim ~4.6 to 100 and i still vividly remember your f10 M5 story (the sealink one).
On paper that's supposed to be quicker !! haha !!
Do get a shot or 2 of this beauty if you can manage.

Beautiful car! Ive been waiting for the arrival of this car and going by the pricing it seems to be a steal. I dont know why its only being compared to the M5 and E63, must be purely on engine spec.

I wish salman chose the matt silver. Do they just give these exotics to Bollywood superstars? At no cost? I thought Abhishek Bachchan was the brand ambassador.

Went for a drive in this today. Its really quick, but it masks its speed well so you don't realize how fast it is. Great sound too, its like German muscle. This car is the press car, so expect to see it in all the magazines.
