Default BMW M Performance Training Program - 2016 calendar announced

BMW India has announced this year's calendar for the BMW M Performance Training Program in the country. In addition to Delhi and Chennai, the list of venues for 2016 includes two new locations: Bengaluru and Aamby Valley.

The BMW M Performance Training Program is a one-day event that gives participants the opportunity to have a first-hand experience of driving BMW M cars. The training program includes various driving conditions like cornering, high-speed straights, and dramatic changes in elevation. Certified BMW trainers and instructors help the drivers to enhance their skills and ensure that they do so in a safe environment.

For the 2016 season, the participants will be able to get their hands on various BMW M cars, including the BMW M3 Sedan, M4 Coupe, M5 Sedan, M6 Gran Coupe, X5 M and X6 M.

The BMW M Performance Training Program for 2016 will begin in the city of Bengaluru on July 31 at the Taneja Aerospace and Aviation centre. It will then reach Delhi on August 24 and 25 at the Buddh International Circuit. Chennai's Madras Motor Sports Race Track will be the venue for the event on September 21 and 22. The last stop would be the Aamby Valley City on October 19 and 20.

I just now returned from the BMW experience tour at Taneja Aviation runway. I wasn't really aware of the M performance training program otherwise would have signed up for that instead of this. Anyway it was a well organised event and the runway is a fantastic place for such events.

We did timed laps on a slalom course and then some braking and acceleration runs in X3s, X5s, 5s and 3s. Guess who did the best lap time ?

All M cars, the Z4 and the new 7 were on display. Had a good time throwing these cars around on the tarmac and burning up some rubber.

Guess we missed each other

Yes the runway is a fantastic place, just wish we had more laps of the course. I was in the white X1 and then the Red X3 30d for the braking and acceleration run. Disappointed with the X1 but the X3 with its superb engine more than made up !

The M performance training is only for M car owners and on invite from BMW India directly as per what reply I got from them.

Nice to see they've added M driver training to more cities. Though the one at Buddh is going to be the most fun. And luckily I'm going for it on the 24th of August, just can't wait! Heard from some people who went last year that the BMW instructors really let you push the cars, rather than trying to restrain you.

How does one go for this? Is it by invite or chargeable?

It was chargeable. The slots filled up really quick. I was told about it when I visited the dealership a few weeks ago, and said I definitely was in for it.

We sure did . I was in the Red X3 30d for the slalom run and in a black 5 series just behind the white X1 for braking test. The 30d did shine in the company of the 20d's.

Too bad the M event is out of bounds for us regular Joes.

There is no criteria for entry. You just have to manage to get a slot early enough and pay the fees. I suggest you try for the Chennai track, since that will be second best after Buddh. And it probably won't be too far away from Bangalore too.

It was 50k. Includes 2 nights stay, all meals and an afterparty (), apart from the day of driving the M cars. Airfare was not included.

Just like I had predicted, you did set the best time
Being an X3 30D owner yourself helps
You forgot to mention that we spent 6 hours traveling to & fro to the venue!
It was a fun event, I enjoyed seeing the M cars & driving the X3 30d & 520d.

Got an invite for the M Performance drive this Sunday at Taneja Aerospace.
They sent out a physical invitation as well as a e-invite but nowhere was it mentioned that it comes at a cost.
Or maybe I'm just ignorant to the facts.
Either ways I'm definitely going.
P.S Will attend the Chennai event as well

50k is a steal. I paid double of that for the ASE at the Buddh in 2012. Is there a website where we can check for seat availability?
