v means the cylinders are arranged in a v shape and same for w. so v8 means 8 cylinders arranged in a v shape.

In addition to that, there are different engine positions, that essentially help reduce vibrations from the moving pistons.

So up till 4 cylinders, the configuration is I . So we have I 4 , not a V4.

Traditionally , or at least since the V config era, we have had V6 engines. BMW does have an amazing I 6 set up found in the 335i.

Don't want to continue the offtopic discussion, but could not resist. Guess which is the smallest V6 sold in India? The silky smooth Nissan Teana.

Ok guys i just discovered a friend of mine got himself not one but two Range Rovers. I know one the white is a Range Rover but i do not know if the other Blue is a Sport or also just the Ranger.

I also spotted this Range Rover sport SE parked on the side of the road while the owner spoke on the phone.

So does Porsche. Their flat 6 Boxer engines are legendary.
