| The beetle needs sexier rims. @everyone to whom i said the X6 is ugly: I take it back. Saw it in front of my college and its jaw droppingly awesome. What road presence. Number is 3300 I guess. After a while a friend asked me to close my mouth. Couldn't manage a picture. Sorry. |

| Senior - BHPian | Well i always liked X6,from the starting. Was actually wondering why people dont like it. But i hate X3 and i just dont like X5 ![]() And when i talk about any expensive cars, its just the design i am talking about,so dont come back to me telling their performance and all ![]() |

| Same here, I just dont like the X1, X3, X5, Q5 or the Q7. They just look wrong! My reasons are totally different from most I feel. Its because I grew up seeing cars like the RR Vogue, the LR, the Toyota LC, Nissan Patrol and the Chevy Suburban/GMCs doing what they do best, oozing power and off road capabilities, that the idea of companies like Audi, BMW or Porsche making a SUV or any UV for that matter seems (to me) absurd. I have to agree that the Cayenne and the X6 are good to look at but apart from that I am yet to be convinced on why I should buy one if I had the money. Mind you the Merc G wagen without doubt is in a different league and I feel is the only 4x4 made by a luxury car maker that is actually worth buying. I guess I am used to the cars from the 80's and 90's, they were built to last and perform. Car makers, those days (specifically referring to luxury brands) had clear ideas on what segments they wanted to cater to and not how to monopolize every segment. OT Growing up in the middle east surely doesnt help in reaching a decision or forming an opinion as all the brands I have mentioned are considered Luxury in India!!! With the exisiting infrastructure in Indian cities, a moderately well off person in India who is just barely able to afford any one of the above mentioned brands is likely going to go for the one with the least maintenance costs, unless he/she is a car nut like us in which case performance rules and common sense or should I say logic is overpowered by passion! Just my thoughts people ![]() |

| BHPian | That is absolutely BANG ON! Slick, you have just made my point! Just one addition/modification : The Cayenne is actually a very nice SUV, and AFAIK it handles pretty nicely Off-Road as well, even though it is absolutely bleak in comparo to the RR and the league! And I'm also not so sure of the Chevy Suburban and the GMC as well ![]() Last edited by preetam_KORG : 11th March 2010 at 17:41. |

| The Range Rover is the ultimate SUV. The Land Cruiser comes a close second and the likes of Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, Hummer H2 and Chevy Suburban are in a different league. Not bad in most of the aspects, these are not as polished and rounded as a Rangie or a LC. IMO the american SUVs are just huge gas-guzzlers with their imposing stance. Definitely the Range Rovers and the Land Cruisers are the pick of the SUVs. The Range Rover Autobiography is a piece of art and the ultimate SUV with all the goodies too !! |

| The Hummer H2, Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator are not @ all good SUV's. The hummer might be a shade better than the other two but that's about it. But I do agree with your other point. The Range Rover is the best SUV around if you want to reach the top of a mountain or the other side of the rainforest in extreme luxury. But if you just want to go there, your best best is the Landcruiser. |
