This is the same Ferrari from yesterdays Speed Run but overall it was quite disappointing. Didnt sound quite great either. Even Spidermans 360 sounds louder. I am a Ferrari lover but I can say that it was no match for the SL55 in yesterdays event. Got wacked real bad.

Consolation for him was that he won against the Civic

I prefer Spiderman's Yellow 360 to this one...its much louder, its got a great driver [Spiderman himself]. I'd really wanna see him against the SL 55 AMG. That'll be a perfect competition. This red 360 guys reaction time wasn't all that great. He was a little late on the pedal.

Another thing I didn't like were the interiors, it had cream leather seats and upholstery.......prefer Spiderman's black leather instead.

What else can u expect man? I know u are a big Ferrari freak....still, the stats alone prove that the SL 55 AMG is heads up better than the Ferrari. In fact, even Jeremy Calrkson got rif\d of his 360 Modena for an SL55 AMG...
A 5.5 Lt. supercharged V8 500 odd bhp thunderblast v/s a 3.6 (is it?) litre 400 odd bhp Ferrari...u decide which deserves to win.

my thoughts exactly turbo_V12 . I always knew the 360 was no match for the mighty SL. The supercharged V8 monster was always in a class of its own . The 360 just aint good enough. And boy was it fun to see it get whipped

I don't think Jeremy had a 360. He had a Ferrari 355.

And even more importantly, 515 lb-ft of torque vs. 275. C'mon be fair, what chance did that Ferrari have? With that much torque on tap the Merc didn't need any great driving skills to launch in the most outrageous fashion and then keep pulling like a runaway train!

Was absolutely no competition there.Auto-illiterates at the SpeedRun were just stunned to see a Ferrari losing out to a Merc.Even the mid-day(21st feb) reporter.
I believe even Neville knew he's gonna lose.
Although the SL55 v/s M5 wud've been a battle to watch.

Actually it is 500bhp, at least in the UK spec cars. 700 nm of torque which is approx 515lb-ft. Awesome numbers those!

Both of you are wrong, the SL is 493 bhp. It was originally 476 bhp but due to the E55 (476 bhp) they upgraded the SL to 493. Even if you bought the SL before the upgrade you could just walk into any showroom and they would upgrade it for you free of charge.

About the Ferrari v SL thing, I'm definitely a supporter of the SL (for those of you who don't know why, I'm not gonna explain) BUT the Ferrari is infact faster according to claimed manufacturer times from the SL even though its huge power disadvantage. The Ferrari has a claimed time of 4.5 and the SL 4.7. I know that manufacturers are usually conservative in their times but that applies to both companies so no difference. And more importantly, the Ferrari is extremely light weight compared to the SL, hence the huge timing advantage. The only thing according to me that made him lose the race was some crappy driving which IMO makes him the worst driver at the SR. If you don't know how to drive an advanced manual like the ones in Ferrari etc., then please don't buy one and act like you have the best car in town!!!!

END OF RANT

meh, Jeremy is a stupid biased a-hole. Although I don't really like Ferrari's I still believe that he is one. He says he loves handling cars and such but ends up buying the SL55 and the Ford GT, which are more like American muscle cars.
He buys one car cause it has the comfort and the capabilities of a sports GT, and his next car is one which is impractical, fast but not fully specced.
AND he always favours British cars to any other car even if its better (although there are some exceptions to it ala DB9)
