Not the German consulate, but the prominent family related to the prominent building owns this.
Consulate cars have black on yellow plates with "CC" in between 2 sets of numbers.

Found this on FB. A brand new Escalade on sale in Mumbai. Having seen an example of the same car in Bangalore, the presence of this is unparalleled.
But the price made me go ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

PS :: Feels good posting on the thread that got me hooked on to Team-BHP back in 2008. Still remember running a Google search for my Geography assignment on GM and stumbling upon this thread

Geography and General Motors? How are they even related?

Anyway, just checked prices. The price declared to customs is 52.63L. Since that's CIF value I'm assuming it included the cost of RHD conversion (~$20k). Now, at 213.34% duty, it should come to 1.12cr. So total price was 1.64cr. Straight 70L profit!
