Also you need to own 6 mercedes before you can get your hands on this one.

The Maybach has never, ever done it for me. Been in one a few times, was even at the official India launch, but I would never say that it is better than the RR. IMO it doesn't hold a candle to the charisma of the Double R!!!

As Speedy said, it's a glorified S class...

@car_crazy1400: The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce is a cool organisation, Love how they invite you for stuff. I was at this years auto expo as an exhibitor courtesy the Indo-Germ, and even had amazing VIP treatment by all the German exhibitors...

Awww...thats too bad. What if i get suddenly rich out of the blue and start craving for a Maybach, wont it sound stupid if had to buy 6 Mercedes before getting my hands on this one.

Is there some condition for buying a RR Phantom like this one too?

Personally, I think 57 S is a better choice than a 62 cause a 62 costs about 2-3 crores more than a Phantom.Phantom is only(or mostly) for people who want to show of their wealth, while a Maybach is for personal enjoyment. So what if it looks like an S-class,its interiors are way superior than any other automobile on land as Hanmust also pointed out.

I never heard such a condition to buy a Maybach.

I've heard that RR had some conditions like, the buyer shouldn't have a criminal backgroud, the buyer's reputation will be assesed, it should be used for personal purpose, etc. If its there, then I don't think that RR has been successful, because Davood Ibrahim has got a RR, Mobile Store use RR for promotional activities, Burg-ul-Arab & Emirates Hotels have RR as taxi too. Or has the rule being changed after BMW took control of it?

Anyway I again stress at a point that the interior, comfort & gizmos are unbeatable in Maybach.

I dont know , This condition was told to me by a guy in the showroom who welcomed me.

The Maybach is just .5metres or lets say 1.6 feet less than the maybach 62 and has all the features.

Btw which cars do the prime minister and the president have . It is not the Maybach?

Jayabusa that was in good humour and not a serious point made by Abhinav . There is no condition of this sort for owning either the Maybach,Rolls or Bentley. The only condition is that you should have the Money to pay for them.

Please confirm Abhinav. The showroom guy would have told you this to put you off. They do it with non serious visitors.

My father was shown the Maybach even when we did not own a single mercedes (showroom ones). There was no condition of keeping their driver or owning 6 mercedes. I know this for a fact as the sales person chased my father for a week and my father had told him we were not interested.

If i remember right Mr.Dhariwals driver for the Maybach is his own and not provided by Mercedes.
