Default Toyota Trueno Spotted

Guys, i was coming back from the Autocar Performance Show on saturday and a burgandy/maroonish Toyota Touerno Passed by me at Sion. I am 100% sure that it was a ThreeDoor and it was not a new car. It was Quite dusty looked used. It was absolutely stock though.

I know this is no supercar but it is a favourite of quite a few people here, especially SalilPawar..

Anywyas, i havent got any pictures of it, hope someone can spot it again.

You mean the Trueno ( sprinter ) right? I have seen a white one in Bombay. I am sure there are more on the road.

Toyota Trueno, right?

I think the last of these were made in 99/00, kinda popular in drifting scene.

Any idea on the model of the one you spotted??

OT: These are the last models i believe the ones without the flip-up headlights:

I know about a White trueno which is getting modded to the Initial D type design. Complete body kit, performance and wheels etc. The car was in real bad shape when it reached the garage, but should be on road soon.

Basically a Corolla Coupe. Was sold as the 'Paseo' in the US. Early 90s.

Whoops!! Mis-spelled the name!! Yes, it is the AE-86 i spotted. With the Flip up Head LAmps. The only reason i spotted it, is that those amazing flip up lamps were up.

The white one is a levin. AE-86 is a legend, which introduced 4age revolution.

The car was also made famous by the anime - Initial D... The main character in the cartoon - Takumi is based on a professional japanese racing driver called Keiichi Tsuchiya, who also hosts a car show called Best Motoring.

[quote=majorpayne;1062244]Takumi is based on a professional japanese racing driver called Keiichi Tsuchiya, who also hosts a car show called Best Motoring.

Tsuchiya is the original drift king, he's the one credited as the founder of the motorsport. He makes a cameo appearence in F&F Tokyo Drift as well...

Oh yes, mewants the pictures if not a glimpse in real. The AE86 about which nikibusa is talking about is currently @ AR Motosport's (Ranjit's) garage.
