What happens when the traffic police have to tow away a car with permanent AWD?

Ford Roadside assistance also uses their service. When i met with an accident i called up ford and they had sent a similar recovery vehicle!

I am not completely sure, but I guess even Audi India has an agreement with Mondial India for on-road breakdown assistance, at least that's what I've heard here in Chandigarh.Have seen a similar truck parked at one of the filling stations here.

Jaspreet Singh

Mondials don't operate privately. They only tie up with dealerships as of now.

That flatbed is actually owned by Mr. Nitin Dossa and he gives WIAA to use it. There is another company in the suburbs but the name escapes me right now... will post as soon as i remember it.

For Mercedes-Benz rides, the front lights, and the tail lights come on when the driver unlocks the car with his remote. They stay on for about 15-20 seconds at maximum until the driver opens any door/boot of the car, (depending on settings, you can even switch this setting off). So I'm guessing, when no door was opened the lights automatically went off. Just a mere coincidence that the lights went off when the truck stopped.

Purpose of this feature is easy accessibility for owners to return to their vehicles in countries marred by fog or dense mist, or even at night in dark parking spots.

Guess, it's worth mentioning that traditional towing with 2 wheels of the ground can cause heavy damage on the car. Front bumpers, engine grille, front cross-member, even radiator mesh etc can be damaged towing the car in this way. For some cars, it will even damage the rear bumper etc. So, its much better to have it towed in flat bed and pay a bit more than to repair tens of thousands in additional damages that may make the original accident damage repair look small...

They probably wouldn't even dare to tow away such a car !! Only lower segment cars get towed away by Police in India..We are like this only.

Its good to use these type of towing vehicle to take such an expensive cars, otherwise the local towing trucks will damage the cars in one way or the other. Once when my Palio was broke, I used the assistance of a local towing truck, at last when it reached the garage, there was a dent on the front bumbers.

How embarassing! I can only imagine the plight of the poor Merc owner. Now, how do you define build quality (Your definition of Build Quality)?

In my opinion the biggest problem with most of todays high end cars is the huge amount of electronic gadgetry that they come with. It doesn't take much for an electronic part to fail, especially in Indian road conditions. I'm sure they have more computing power in these cars than some of our early space flights.
