Default Z4 in Bangalore!!

Hi,
it seems theres an Electric Red 3.0i version of the Z4 at the BMW showroom in Bangalore...it wont be there for long, getting delivered on 5.06.2005.
The owner is going to be one lucky pal, 'cause no more Z4 imports are allowed and his car would be the first in South India.

Very nice..but for me..the Z4 looks best in black. There is also a silver Z3 in Blore as well.

I had a glimpse of that as my bus cruised past the showroom on the way to Kerala last week... Somehow I ended up thinking it was a Z8 instead of a Z4.

I know what they both look like... I just got a quick look as the bus whizzed by and somehow it registered in my mind as a Z8. My bad.

bro, these parameters are for homologation. If you pass these, you don't need to homologate your cars. That's it. You can still import them if they're below these, but you'll need to homologate them.

These rules have been in place for over a year now.

FYI the Z4 3.0i costs USD 41,300. It is a straight-six 3 litre engine. So it qualifies on both counts!

It's the opposite, karthik. Only if you're ABOVE that limit are you exempt from the homologation requirements. That's why it's much easier to import a Porsche 911 than a Honda Civic.

Sorry Bro...but the engine for a Z4 is as follows:
2979 cc, 231bhp@ 5900rpm.
21cc less is reason enough for Indian govt to make hassles at the port.BMW has at the moment no plans to homologate the Z4.
Hence no more Z4's.. At present all BMW cars are direct imports, even the 5 or 3 series is not homologated. But they did homologate the e36 version of 3 series, unfortunately when ARAI gave the certification BMW came up with the e90 version 0f 3 series...Cheers
