Here is an interesting import that I spotted a few days back in Indiranagar. It's a Volvo XC70. It reminds me of two things: 1) a Hearse! 2) the Fiat Palio Adventure!

Who would want to import one of these? Why? And it's not even an embassy or consulate vehicle!

Suhaas, dont mean to be pedantic, but it's spelt hearse!

Anyway, it's such a pointless car! I have a feeling someone used it when they were abroad and juts decided to ship it when they moved back.

What a pointless big car! Does it have anything worth the mention other than the sheer size? Except for impossiblity of parking, and running down a few pedestrians here and there with no botheration to those inside the cabin, there is absolutely no point it can make! And what a perfect mix of opposites, Volvos are considered the safest cars around, and this one looks like a hearse

Typo: I knew the spelling!

Oh, and Shamik, there's your answer. It's probably because whoever owned it must have felt that there is some sentimental value attached to it. That's the ONLY reason IMO.

@suhaas,anekho,shamik and baleno - yes that Pale green is a rather nice shade.

Looks lovely in real life - my Nokia camera can only do "so much" justice to it.

Indeed, around a month ago I ve seen this self same Bentley on the opposite side of the road from where I was cruising near Command Hospital area - but I was driving and couldnt photograph it at the time.

It belongs to Volvo trucks. Driver drives like a pillock. Rememer him driving like a BTS bus driver, jumping queues in Marathahalli. It is a cross over. A Volvo estate jacked up. Ideal for our conditions

Nikhil & Preetam, I don't agree with you'll on that. I believe that this particular car is absolutely perfect for our country. The reason why it strongly reminds me of the Fiat Adventure is that it's ride height has been increased for the sole purpose of being able to weather the bad roads that India has to offer. Plus, it's spacious, comfortable (an assumption) and safe!

Dear Suhaas, IMO these cars are no value for money.
I have always, held this thought that big SUV's are absolutely pointless. Makes no sense IMO. Its best to get an endeavour for the purpose it serves. And if a car like that needs to be bought in the first place, I'd buy the Q7 in a heartbeat. Just my 2 cents...
